If the Jets come in better prepared....and...if they still have the bitter taste in their mouth from the last game....I think we'll give them a fight. I'm at a 3 on the confidence meter.
I'm also at a 3 on the confidence meter. I just don't understand how to rationally discuss preparation in regards to this game. We were playing in the ''biggest game of the season,'' and came out like dog shit. Not sure how Rex prepared for it but he has to change it up somehow.
Definitely doubtful. The Patriots were the only team to destroy a Rex Ryan coached defense, and they did it recently, against the same exact team they'll be facing on Sunday.
Probably about a 3. Maybe even a 2.9 to give the Pats a slight edge. I really do think it's anyone's game though. That being said I'm confident enough that I'm looking to be in Gillette on Sunday night which is the true testament of confidence for a college student with no money.
I really believe losing Jim Leonhard 2 days before the last Pats/Jets game played a big role in the last outcome...the defense looked lost....obviously, the Jets played like dogshit too.....but I think we'll see a better effort all around (especially the Defense) next Sunday.
3. Division rivalries are weird animals. You have to forget records, stats, everything. Its when the craziest shit happens, and they can be the most interesting games. Flip the coin.
Normally I agree with you but the last time we took the field against them we lost by 42. You can't completely discount that as if it doesn't matter.
Of course they have a chance in this game."Any given sunday"It is very hard not to have your doubts though considering their last meeting and NE's streak of home wins even though they did loose at home last year in the playoffs so that streak is out the window in my opinion.Have to imply the same strategy as beatin the Colts keep Brady off the field and pray our defense can stop their 46 different receiving threats.
I put a 3 because I believe we can win this game. I'm not sure if we will, but I see a few things that boost my confidence up from a 1 or a 2: 1. I heard the coaching staff say that they're going to keep the game plan simple and not get too complicated. Any time the coaching staff tries to get too fancy, we trip over ourselves and lose. Some times, our biggest enemy is "over preparation". 2. Since Rex Ryan became our coach, the Jets are 2-2 vs the Pats. They aren't a machine that we can't stop. We've done it before, we can do it again. 3. The Pats may not lose at home during the regular season, but they sure can during the playoffs. Remember last year? 4. Rex Ryan is 3-1 in the playoffs, with 3 of those wins on the road. 5. More than half of our wins this season came on the road. We are a good road team. 6. Sanchez is becoming clutch. He's brought us back to win in the 4th quarter this year more times than I can remember. 7. The team is hungry for revenge against the Pats from that 45-3 loss earlier. We got humiliated on national tv. Time for payback...
In hindsight, we could see that the 45-3 game was if not predictable at least not totally surprising. But the upcoming game is being played with a different set of circumstances. It will be different. how different? I don't really know. I was so far off the 45-3 game, while not being all that optimistic about the first encounter of the season, that makes it hard to predict. But if they do, surprise would not be accurate of my reaction. Elation, vindication. Doubtful - I don't know if i doubt it, but I don't expect it for sure. Somewhere around there, I guess.
i'm at a 3. i think it can go either way. in all honesty i would be a little more surprised with a Jet win, but i think that's still left over hurt from the last game.
Weatherford's punts aren't going to go for 12 yards this time. Jets'll show up and give them a game this time.
