Colts had 8 and even 9 in the box, and we still ran it down their throats in the second half. Sanchez was over throwing everything over ten yards, but the O line kicked their asses. We won with ground and pound. Sanchez was not much help. The F'n defense did it's job too. Cro made up for his fuck up with that return. Sanchez did at least make up for an awful game to some slight degree on the last drive. If not for Cro's return... Folk doesn't get close enough.
Agreed entirely. The Jets imposed their will on the Colts up front, and their ability to keep Manning off the field for long stretches basically won the game.
If it wasn't for retarded playcalling, we don't need that final drive. The power run game was working--keeping that New England offense off the field with some 10-minute drives might be in the gameplan next week.
You just can't run the ball on 3rd and 5, the passes made sense. What didn't was sending the bomb to Braylon when a short yardage throw would have been enough
It would have made more sense to run the ball, or like you said, short yards under the middle. All night Sanchez is over throwing that pass and way off on throws to receivers. They could have set up a shotgun draw play at the least. Running it instead of passing would have burned some more time off the clock, or forced Indy to use their last timeout. It turned out ok in the end, but I am certain if we had lost tonight, this is one of the play calls that would have been highly bitched about. I am very glad we won, but this win did nothing to add to my confidence. We looked like poo for a lot of the game. Thankfully, someone got their shit together and started jamming the ball at Indy thru 2nd half. The defense played solid most of the game, but nearly crumbled in the last Indy drive. This team, offense and defense, is reminiscent of John Hall kicking field goals. You always have to hold your breath.
That was one major dumb ass call. Get the five yards there, win the game. Throw it yes, but not a 50 yard bomb.
I was killing the O-line for their play in the first half, but they really stepped up in the 2nd half. I'm so proud of these guys.
Funny thing, the Deep pass may have set up that route. Also, he got 2 feet in and then landed oob, the clock shuold have stopped but was the only snafu tonight. It should have been reviewed upstairs. afa the O-Line goes , you know what was impressive? That Sanchez was fukin brutal in the 1st half and we decided to go ground and pound and Indy knew that and still got raped @ the line...wow
Yup... Indy had 8 and even NINE in the box in the second half. Our O line still kicked them down the field. Who has a link to a Colts' message board. I'd like to do some reading. :manning: They really hate that smiley....LOL
GROUND n POUND JETS football....... what carried them last year (particularly in the post season) and what I've been waiting to see for awhile. The Colts were very vulnernable against the run early in the season have been stout to close it out, stopping strong running teams like OAK, JAX and TEN x2 tonight was refreshing to see....... time to smash the pats and keep Brady on the sidelines as well!! :jets:
