    It never ends...

One minute he's getting bashed for being too conservative and the next he's getting bashed for putting together a balanced gameplan against a weak all-around defense.

    Dude, that's not bashing.

I'm pointing out that that sounds like more "cleverness", not sticking with the newly found short passing game.

Which is to say, if they roll out the offense as it has been the last few weeks, they roll.

If he starts going back into trickeration mode, we're f***d.

I may have read too much into the comment, and overreacted....your assesment may be correct in that he's trying to say..."we just won't be predictable", but his past performance indicts him.

Did you not call him "Simple Brian" in the thread title?

The Colts' secondary is incredibly vulnerable. There's no reason why we shouldn't take shots downfield against them.

There's also no reason why we shouldn't use the Wildcat against them in certain situations. Brad Smith is a game-changer.

I trust he will come up with a good gameplan this week. It had better include increased carries for Greene

Obviously we need to throw the ball but I want to see some bruising runs by SG early.

This post reminded me of something I was thinking during the Buffalo game.

Exactly what percentage of Jets fans were cursing out Schotty for running the wildcat on third and long before Brad Smith ran for like 40 yards on that first 3rd down of the game?

I agree with all of those things.

As long as...the shots downfield come off Play action.

And there are many 3 step drops and deliver.

    and...MOST IMPORTANTLY

He does not revert to multiple motions, changes and that sort of shit.

We can man up on offense and take these guys.

His comment seems to imply that trickeration is in order.

Indy's defense can be taken with a solid running game, then play action.

I admit to saying wtf. That was mild compared to what I heard. Lots of horrified looks at the Jets bar......

haha, I mean me and my dad weren't jumping up and down but I really didn't give a shit because the game was meaningless. I assumed it was a give up to protect Sanchez but then he just kept running and all I could do was laugh and say how many Jets fans feel like assholes for what they said 30 seconds ago?

Yeah, going to have to try mix it up though. The last 3 games, Indy has shut down opposing running games. The RBs they shut down were pretty good too.

It's a short week so maybe he won't over-think the game plan,
which when he does, it usually backfires.

Yup, even if they put 11 in the box. Let's just run the plays they expect us to. We'll kick their asses. We can run on anyone at will. We can't be stopped that way. We're better than the last three teams that couldn't run on the Colts with 8 in the box. Hell, we can run on 11 in the box. Might as well give Smith the start at QB too. Another RB. It will be like the Buffalo game all over again. Can't wait.
