They don't have anyone who is better than him or they would be playing over him. Based on that it wouldn't be the best idea for the DC to say that he isn't very good.

I think we're just spoiled. Is he great or even very good? No. Does he get burned a bit too often? Yes. But he's not awful and for a 3rd CB, most other teams don't have better. In fact, Coleman would be starting on a lot of teams, mark my words. Getting burned, but starting.

a.) It was not a perfect pass.
    b.) It was Drew's fault.

He mistimed his jump. Watch the replay, he was stride-for-stride, but jumped about 0.5 seconds too early.

How unfortunate for him, half a second too late. That definitely makes him shite.

Going to buck the trend here, I like Coleman , hes aggressive and fearless and not afraid to tackle anyone, :coughs: Cromartie.
He is what he is, a back up, and you get what you pay for. How many 'elite' teams have 4-5 decent CBs on roster? I'll bet now that our CBs rank in the top 5 within the NFL, if such rankings exist.

I didn't say it made him "shiite". Actually, I'm probably one of the very few on this forum who thinks Drew is a very solid dime back. Read my previous post... he's good in man-to-man, but really needs to get his head around more often.

I've definitely seen him pull a Kerry Rhodes once or twice...

I would like to see how his play rank up against other nickels in the league

I bet he is one of the best

You people just expect every corner to be Revis

Try actually watching the game and noticing how good QBs will attack him for an entire game, and succeed. His coverage skills suck ass.

I think this is one of the reasons we've been seeing Revis on #3 WR's at times. Coordinators have been getting into a flow of calling plays where the slot guy is the #1 option so they're moving Revis to that guy.

Which won't work against Manning, he reads the game way too well not to spot his #1 or #2 on a mismatch and our non-existent pass rush has shown no ability to get to him before he can capitalise.

Take Revis out of the game, and Coleman doesn't get targeted all night long. Sure Drew isn't going to defend every pass perfectly, but for a back up CB which is what he is, he plays pretty well.

So he's going to wind up on the Pats next season and wind up becoming a great CB.

Dude's still on the team cuz he has nice feet.

IN such cases perhaps the Jets will double cover the #1.

About Coleman, I have been a hater ever since he began playing for the Jets. I understand he would draw attention because they don't throw at Revis, and now not Cromartie so much, either. I also understand he's got some compensating skills, like blitzing, punching the ball out, and he's a decent to good tackler. I also understand and agree with the point that Pettine's quote does not mean he really believes what he said.

But a corner who can't cover and has those skills should probably be a safety, or better yet playing for some other team. If Coleman is guarding Tamme or White man on man, look out.

After watching the game against the Bears I don't have a good feeling about our Nickle corners especially Coleman.. I don't know what they see that we don't...The fact that we didn't see Wilson establish himself as the starting Nickle is really concerning for me.. This game is the one reason we drafted the guy and he is too far down the depth chart to feel good about. How could Coleman be that much better that Wislon...sucks
