McKnight split carries his entire career. He only got the majority of USC's carries when Stafon Johnson suffered that freak weight lifting injury.

    Carroll likes using a RBBC.

It's usually pretty tough to win the Heisman with a true freshman quarterback.

I don't really see how a player on a rebuilding team can compete with Sam Bradford, Mark Ingram, and Tim Tebow.

The 2005 team that Reggie Bush played for is one of the most talented college football teams ever. It's an unfair comparison.

Stafon Johnson, CJ Gable, Chauncey Washington, Stanley Havili, Marc Tyler, and Allen Bradford.

Allen Bradford was a 5 star. He was the #1 player in the state of California in 2006 and a top ten player nationally.

Stafon Johnson was a 5 star. He was the #2 player in the state of California in 2006 and a top twenty player nationally.

CJ Gable was a 5 star. He was the #3 player in the state of California in 2006 and a top twenty five player nationally.

Chauncey Washington was a 4 star. He was top ten running back recruit in 2003.

Marc Tyler was a 5 star. He was the #3 player in the state of California and a top twenty player nationally in 2007.

Stanley Havili was a 4 star. He was the #1 player in the state of Utah and a top three fullback recruit in 2006.

That's four 5 stars and two 4 stars. That looks like a pretty crowded running back stable to me.

My Guess is we'll be seeing some of that this week and next.

I'm a Woodhead supporter, but on Sunday I posted that McK showed enough to put that aside, and my guess is they have more plays for him that they decided to not show.

I don't think there was ever a discussion about talent level between Joe McKnight and Danny Woodhead. McKnight is on da moon compared to Danny Woodhead in terms of talent. Work ethic was the real issue but it appears that Joe has turned the corner there

wasnt woodhead timed in the 4.3s at his pro day? didnt he break division ii records and win their equivalent of the heisman? the guy is fast, quick, shifty, and can catch but he doesnt have much talent because hes 5'8?! hogwash!

the great white hype exists! just as it does for every race when people see a familiar face doing well within a group that they typically dont succeed in

The Harlon Hill Trophy is not the equivalent of the Heisman.

Division II is not the equivalent of the FBS.

Woodhead is the more successful NFL football player at this point in their respective careers and its great to see the guy having success. He works his butt off to do well and he obviously is making the most of what he has. Got to tip your cap to Woodhead for what he has accomplished. McKnight could be good, we shall see.

    So wrong.

Black players who are undersized (McKnight is not) but have the will to win, the desire to succeed and a geat work ethic combined with some talent and a good coachable attitude often become very popular players. Maurice Jones Drew. Ray Rice. Dave Megget.

What do they have in common with Welker, Chrebet, Woodhead? Aside from the things I mentioned? They were also under dogs. They are also in every case, athletes we can admire for these same things. People admire toughness and hard work.

People ragged on McKnight because of the puking, the attitude (early on, real or percieved) and the fumbles. It had NOTHING to do with race. Now that McKnight has BEGUN to demonstrate some of these things, fans will begin to get behind him.

And to whoever it was that said Welker if he weren't white would be just another WR... LMAO. Three years in a row of 110+ catches? Sure, that's a real run of the mill wide reciever for sure. Gimmee a break. It's almost like if you like ANY player that is white, you're a racist.

okay, its the equivalent of the maxwell award

the point is that the man has plenty of talent and people are forgetting that fact because hes white and went to a division ii school

Only because it came from me. It's a tongue in cheek observation on how this fan base is addicted to white scrappy guys. You wouldn't understand.

I didn't think it would actually turn into a see conversation.

    Oh well

Not necessarily you. Yeah you voiced that name for it but others have hinted around the same thing.

I haven't been around here long but I would imagine any obsession with Chrebet is not synonymous with an obsession with the fact that he was white. If I remember right Chrebet was a walk on.

I think most people love anybody like that.
