I did not know that. Either way, players want to play for Rex, they here what its like to be a Jet. And JT and Ellis won't be Jets next year
I don't have a dog in this fight in terms of whether or not Ricky "killed" us. I was making a comment about you all of a sudden reverting back to the #'s to prove your point, when previously they were unreliable. Numbers are numbers Junc. DB numbers aren't any more reliable/unreliable than RB numbers. 10 carries for 100 yards sounds great until you find out its 1/99 and 9/1. What if I told you there was a running back that only averaged 3.5 yards a carry, it would seem pretty mediocre. But if I told you that every single time he touched the ball, he gained exactly 3.5 yards, that cat would probably be MVP of the league since you'd just run him on every down and guarantee a TD every drive, and yet his average would remain 3.5 yards a carry. I'm sure that if you look back and read through half your arguments, you think "man, if I were on the other side, I'd tear this clown up". Edit: and to at least address the topic, I'd rather not have Ricky on this team. Whether or not he still has tread on the tires, I'd like us not to add an aging running back to this team. The LT pickup was great, but he's shown this season that you just can't fight father time, as his running production has steadily declined as the season went on.
doesn't ricky have a huge anxiety problem? spent the first 10 years giving interview with his helmet and black face mask on? good luck in new fucking york!
of course you don't but you just spout off. #s never tell the whole story but they can be used as a guide. Ricky really only only had the one huge game against is in his first game as a dolphin vs. the Jets in 2002. he has had some moments and some good games but he hasn't killed us. DB #s are like OL #s, it's very to tough to judge. A RB can have a good game w/ lesser #s but show me the great games Ricky had against us? That would be the next logical step in this discussion instead of attacking me. I attacked the Cro #s b/c they looked good but watching him play every week and seeing him get beat consistently every week tells me not to trust those #s. if you have any additional info on Ricky killing us please share. Show me the RB who gets 3.5 yards every single carry and we can have that discussion.
1st game of 09 Ricky rushed for 68 and got 70 receiving 1st game 03 he had 130 on the ground and 40 receiving 2nd game 03 he had 70 on the ground and 70 receiving
1st game of '09 they hurt us w/ the wildcat. The '03 game he got those 125 yds on 34 carries(3.68 YPC) and he had 37 rec yds 2nd '03 game he had 73 yds on 20 carries(3.65 YPC) almost 10 years worth of games and he only killed us once and had mayb2 other decent games. This reminds me of when Pats fans were saying Wes welker killed them while he was w/ Miami.
That second 2003 game, wasn't that the finale of a 6-10 year for us? We pretty much mailed that one in.
We actually played hard and got screwed. That was the game where we got a 2 pt conversion to becht but they ruled he didn't catch it and didn't overturn it. That would have made it 23-20 instead it was 21-20 and I believe we had an INT late but they called it back and Miami kicked the FG to win 23-21 instead of getting the game to OT.
I have to disagree. I don't want to tangent on LT in the RWilliams thread but I think LT's production has diminished because teams are stacking the box more. They are expecting the tun and preparing better for it. 10 years of film on LT provides a lot of preparation material for an opposing team. That's not to say he has slowed down a bit, he most certainly has. But I think the beginning of the season showed that teams were unprepared for LT behind the Jets OLine.
That doesn't explain then why Shonn looks just fine, against the same stacked box. Why he isn't getting more carries right now, is a mystery between Schotty and the half-eaten pumpkin pie he seemed to bounce gameplans off of for most of this season (someone must have hidden it from him these last two games though. Much improved, minus the heavy LT reliance still). I wasn't trying to shit on LT, I think he's still invaluable as a blocker and catching passes out of the backfield, but when it comes to picking up the workhorse yards, its just not there like it was before. I'm afraid that bringing in Ricky would have the same outcome, great yards for the first 6 games or so, then diminishing returns.
Lol its not even close to 10 years worth of games if you consider his hiatus and when he was injured. He only played 11 games against the Jets as a Dolphin I never said Ricky killed you guys, since I don't believe it. I just threw the stats out there 4 really good games out of 11 is pretty damn solid when you consider 4 of those games(this year and last) were against an elite D and a lot of those games he was in a 2 back system
He had one great game, 2-3 decent games. Out of 11 games that's not very good. In most games against us he hasn't been much of a factor. Ricky had HOF talent but wasted it.
This is pretty funny. Though he did just rip the Jets after the Alosi incident, saying something along the lines of "I'm not surprised, it's the Jets."
