I really like a few of VT's defenders. Bruce Taylor is going to be one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2012 draft. He could opt to leave early though. Rashad Carmichael is a serious sleeper at corner. I think most of us already know who Steven Friday is.
Yeah, Mallett's making some money tonight. Gabbert just won't be able to compete with the big three this year.
Heyward by a wide, wide margin. Heyward is proven, shows up in big spots, and has shown just about everything from skills to leadership that NFL teams want. On top of that, I think Heyward can fit in tremendously in either a 43 or a 34 defense with his strength/agility combination, while I'm not sure Bailey can be that good in either.
Im definitely feeling Cameron Heyward, this guy seems to completely change the way offenses can handle themselves. Not to mention he kind of looks like a fat Mark Sanchez though I dont know how much of an impact he could have against the pass, hes more of a rush crusher
Heyward earned some money. He's a good player, but he's incredibly inconsistent. I guess he figured it was time to turn it on for an entire game while he was playing on national TV.
Scariest thought about Heyward is this guy is absolutely fricken PERFECT for the Patriots to pick up. And the latest mock drafts im seeing having him going to the Pats via the Raiders pick. Guy specializes in stopping the run is pretty amazing at it and is so so against the pass. Absolutely perfect for a team in the same division as the Jets/Fins
Heyward doesn't specialize in stopping the run, he's just good at it. He's a versatile player. This guy could play in pretty much every scheme.
Well from scouting reports he seems to be rather lackluster when it comes to the pass rush. I mean during the game he was on Mallets dick almost every play, but thats more a reflection of the offensiveline.
He ate up DeMarcus Love on a number of plays, a guy who's pretty highly thought of and is a good pass blocker.
You're not going get Heyward to become a monster D-lineman. Heyward will be a consistent, hard working DE in the 3-4, if the Jets take him. Excellent run stopper and willing to take on double teams. Loves football and is very dedicated to the OSU program. Smart player, never in trouble and is a quiet leader. I'm afraid many Jet fans will want tons of production out of Heyward, which isn't going to happen. Heyward will do his job every game and not get a lot of props. The Coaching staff, Teammates and the informed Jet's fan will love Heyward.
If Heyward is consistent, he's got Richard Seymour potential. Big, strong, and a great athlete, he should make for a prototype 34 end.
