I agree that it is a bit soon to congratulate the front office for the McKnight pick, but let's consider this: if Gholston had three sacks and a FF in a week 16 meaningless game in his rookie year, we'd have all be equally excited and thought that VG had turned the corner.

This JMK performance gives hope that we got real value in round 4 and makes me optimistic about his future, but I'm not ready to start popping the Cristal open just yet.

The timing bothered me, although the move didn't. The Pats signed Danny Woodhead Thread should be a good read right about now. Plenty of people laughed. I didn't. The way you described his usage by the Pats is exactly what the Pats were looking for once Faulk went down. Thankfully for them, we had made him available the week before and e was already sitting on the roster.

The ideal situation would have been to cut Woodhead after Holmes returned.

You cant compare the 2. Getting a sack you gotta shed blocks, chase down the ball carrier and bring em down. And as a DE youre largely responsible as an individual for your success

Where as a hb your offensive line plays a much much more significant role, and imo is more responsible for your success (or at least short yardage) than the hb himself is.

The thing that's amusing is that so many people were writing him off after 2 weeks of the preseason and the rational response was "Be patient.". And now after the Bills game, as people get excited about the performance, many of those who so quickly gave up on him before are saying "Be patient".

While it's still waaaay too soon to call him one way or the other, it's amusing how quickly the approach can change. I'm not about to name names, nor do I have any intention of an I-told-you-so moment, but some of you crack me up.

Interestingly, one of his biggest haters (Hobbes) responded perfectly to the game in another thread. Others should really follow his lead.

i dont recall being one of those who gave up on him, BUT i can understand why people would have grown to dislike him after the junk that he showed in camp. he just got unlucky and had it made fun of for all of hard knocks or nobody would have been hating him.

good for him though that he has become a contributor on the team. he will make himself alot of money by being a contributor, even if he never becomes a star.

He hasn't really done anything yet.

We won't know about this for a few years, most likely.

He has stayed on the roster, which is something.

Talk about premature ejaculation, wow. Nothing has changed with McKnight based off one exhibition like game. Everyone knew the kid has talent, we still know he has talent but we should also know it takes more then talent to have sustained success at the NFL level.

The kid very well might turn out to be the steal of the draft. Right now though he is still an unproven RB with talent and questions about his desire, just as he was before the Buffalo game.

after reading your posts about sanchez and his so called elite ability you placed upon him, it's hard to take any of your judgements of talent seriously.

Never doubted his talent, just his dedication. Everyone in the NFL has talent......... He has shown the dedication to get out of the doghouse and become a special teams demon.

The Bills are a shitty defense but they have some pretty good players (Williams and Pouluszny for instance) that are way better than the 3rd string grocery baggers of a 4th exhibition game.

That said, this one game and hopefully he can build momentum for the future. I think the better story or at least the one I think will serve him better down the road is how he performed on special teams. He didn't sulk, he took his shit performance in training camp to heart and improved himself.

Anyway, it isn't one game against a crap defense it is his total change in attitude that I am more encouraged with.

Im not taking away all the credit from the HB.

I just feel that their elusiveness pays more dividends once they get through that initial hole and thats why the talented guys break those long runs. The better guys can burn LBs and Safeties which is how they get those big plays.

If you got a good enough offensive line going against a shitty defense you can have almost any hb avging 3-4 YPC.
