If it's a popularity contest, why haven't more jets made it? The coaches and players choose who goes on the ballot and they are deciding who is chosen for the pro bowl...the fans only account for 25% of the vote.

Either you are saying your players are only good in your eyes or the rest of the world don't think your team has good players. Your choice...

    Oh shit... :breakdance:

The Cowboys have 5 Pro Bowlers. Clearly they were one of the best teams in the NFL this year.

This is going to be a fun thread.

There are plenty of top quality players on lousy teams. The Cowboys problem is JJ has to be involved in the day to day activities and he hired a goof ball that didn't have a clue on how to blend the talent.

But the fan balloting portion of the Prp Bowl is definitely a popularity contest. I would imagine that to an extent, it might be from the players balloting as well.

I agree. But the argument presented was that the Jets aren't that good because they only have 3 Pro Bowlers. The number of players a team sends to the Pro Bowl is a terrible way to gauge the quality of that team.

Indy is clearly dominant. They destroyed the mighty 6-10 last place Titans last week. It wasn't even a close game, they completely shut down the Titans in all phases of the game regardless of the score.

The Jets don't stand a chance.

    LOL.

They never had a shot, only 2 Pro Bowlers on the team, and 1 was a special teams player so it's more like 1.5. I don't even know why they played.

    lol

Didn't the Colts have more pro bowlers then the Saints did last year?

Clearly it takes more then talent to win football games. Supposedly Dallas and San Diego are loaded with talent and look at what they are doing this weekend.

Remember when Favre was here and we had like 9 pro-bowlers? That was awesome.

I would agree. Look at Butler last year against Duke. One team was loaded with 5 star recruits and the other without even one four start recruit. It's all about getting them to play as a team.

And the Colts carry a lot of momentum going into the playoffs, which EVERYONE knows is the key factor for post season success.

Everyone but the Saints, maybe. They lost their last three regular season games last year. I'm pretty sure they managed to win the Superbowl or something, I forget.

Is this a thread about the Pro Bowl? I thought it was going to be about the Colts game.

Dilfer: Jets offense should 'dominate' Colts:

"That white helmet with the horseshoe on it conjures up thoughts of Peyton Manning imposing his will on a defense up and down the field with quick strikes, deep balls and whatever else he wants to do.

ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer doesn't have those thoughts at the moment.

When he looks ahead to Saturday night's first-round playoff game between the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium, he sees the youngster with a more favorable matchup for domination.

"Everybody's going to be talking about Peyton Manning, the vertical passing game, the Jets' bad pass defense," Dilfer said. "I'm going to flip the script on you a little bit. I think the Jets can win this game on offense. I believe they have the balance and the play calling offensively to dictate the terms of this game with their offense.

"If they can come out and get Mark Sanchez rolling, get him into a rhythm, get him some free completions, get him 14, 18 attempts in the first half, then I think they can have their way with the Colts in the second half, running the rock.

"Look for the New York Jets to dominate this game offensively and end up on top." "

My man Dilfer is right on the money. Talk about our defense all you want but the Colts matchup horribly against our offense. Especially playing in a dome, while we are already a great road team I don't think we've played in nice weather since week 2 vs the Pats. (and Detroit)

We can really open up Holmes here.
