We're still waiting for your logical explanation of how a corner could possibly be the 6th most targeted, 3rd best in completion percentage against, yet "always beat" junc. I like how you continue to dodge this simple question. Please make some sense of this to me, I can't seem to understand how it's possible.

Your first excuse was posting the #s then when you realized they didn't back your story the next excuse was Ben had time then when that was debunked it was we played zone.

Watch the Pitt game again if you do not remember.

I'm sure that guy does a good job, the first time I read one of those articles it told me how well jason taylor was rushing the passer. I knew not to take it too seriously after that. Maybe he just had a bad day breaking down tape but saying cro did ok on wallace shows me he is 0 for 2.

I provide an unbiased view, if I see a guy plays well I'll praise him but if I see he is not performing I will say so. You guys are too homerish, the jets can do no wrong in your eyes. The way you guys defended every move we made this offseason and defended all the embarrassing off field nonsense. At some point you have to be honest.

I never said he was, he's a tough guy to cover but if you havea guy that is as good as Cro supposedly is shouldn't he be able to hold his own?

Post the #s of all the corners in the NFL and i'll explain it.

You keep going back to those same #s yet you do not have an answer for why the #s looked good against Pitt yet he was torched all game long.

Keep hiding behind those #s as if they are gospel.

I'm not making any excuses junc. I'm providing facts, and you continue to spin and make up reasons as to how they're invalid. Someone else pointed you to an analysis by a respected blogger who does an excellent breakdown each week after re-watching the game and what did you do? Predictably you denied his breakdown as false. Just like you've done with every fact we've thrown in your face.

It's clear you have no interest in the truth. Your interest is in arguing and always thinking you're right no matter how stupid your twisted view is.

What numbers do you want from the rest of the corners?

Then why did you come up w/ new reasons for his poor play in Pitt days apart from each other?

Cromartie was awful against pitt, i cannot take any breakdown seriously that says he did a decent job and again this same person(I assume, you are the one who posts the "articles") said Taylor was doing a good job applying pressure when he has been invisible as a apss rusher most of the season.

Post the #s for all corners. At least give us something to compare his #s too. You just throw out #s and expect us to bow down, some of us that can think for ourselves don't buy every # that is thrown out there. I think the pitt example illustrates that. There's not a person alive who even remotely understands this game who thinks Cromartie was good against Pitt but the #s look like he did a good job so you expect me to ignore reality and focus on those #s.

You know why I can't do that. If you ask for something more specific I will post it. Regardless, you STILL can't answer a simple question.

Give us a logical explanation junc. Tell us how one could be the 6th most targeted, have the 3rd best completion percentage against and be "always beat". You can't and won't explain it because there IS no logical explanation. Your entire argument is based on you pointing out that he supposedly (i don't remember) played poorly in one game. How does that even make sense when we're talking about an entire season?

Surely if he's always beat, and getting thrown at more often than nearly every CB in the league, he would be giving up a much worse completion percentage. You need to explain to us how this magical occurrence is happening. You don't need more info to do this, just tell us how it's happening.

Damn good point, he does hold his coverage for a while and a corner can only do so for so long.

When a receiver has enough time to run his double move and than comeback and just create his own route you really can't fault Cro for that.

I cannot answer the question that you are asking w/o seeing all the data first.

You do realize a guy can get beat w/o the pass being completed, right?

You can answer my question which you have repeatedly dodged.

I expect a guy that is as good as Cro supposedly is to be able to do a much better job than he has. he is talked about on here by many like he is revis. This topic was about him being overrated and he is overrated, if not for one excellent half against a guy who quit in week 2 would anyone be saying how good he has been?

sure you can, the other data has no relevance to the question being asked.

So your stance is that he's getting lucky? Being the 6th most targeted guy and having the 3rd best completion percentage against is a heck of a lot of being beat but no completion against.

    What question is that junc?

Everything regresses to the mean. IF Cro was really as terrible as Junc wants to believe, then what you say is exactly what would happen. With a high number of targets, a "toast" corner will give up a high # of completions over the course of a season. He might get lucky here or there, but you cannot attribute an entire season to "luck".

Junc made a statement earlier about Mike Wallace being a #2 receiver, therefore as a #2 corner, Cro should have his way with him.

    1) You haven't been paying attention to anything Pitts related if you think that Mike Wallace and Hines Ward aren't 1a/1b. They have basically the same number of receptions(60), and Wallace has about 500 more yards receiving. Wallace has been the go-to big play receiver all year for that team. You love saying that the #'s don't tell the whole story, so surely you know that the some order on the depth chart means little as well.

    2) A gifted receiver who isn't a "slouch" is going to get his catches throughout a game. Fine, Cro didn't have an all-world game, but if he was as terrible as you say, why didn't they just throw it up to him non-stop and score 50+ points. Also, when crunch time came, with two shots to the end-zone to win the game why wasn't Cro targeted and beat?

    3) Can you honestly, with a straight face, say that Lito from *LAST* year would have done better than Cro in that Pittsburgh game, in those conditions?

Cro has done a great job besides the Steelers game where it wasnt even that bad a job as your making it sound. Hes not Revis but he is pretty close. Has anyone expected more from him then he has given us this year. I certainly didnt.

With as bad our pass rush is Cromartie has far exceded my expectations.

Does Cromartie stutter? Serious question, I know Slauson does but saw some clips that leads me to believe that Cromartie does too.

My stance is I don't trust those #s. Those #s tell us he had a good game in Pitt and we know he was awful in Pitt.

The question about the pitt game.

Aren't Revis and cro supposed to be 1A and 1B? Wallace is really good but he's not Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson and the Jets had revis on ward for a reason.

I never asked for him to shut out his opponents but he is consistently getting beat every single game. Whether the WR is catching the balls or not his guys are open consistently.

Do I think Lito '09 could have done better than cro '10 in Pitt? I don't know, Lito doesn't have half the talent that cro has but he's smarter. I do know our secondary wasn't torched last year the way it has been this year and Cro's play has alot to do w/ it.

THIS is exactly why he is overrated. There are too many people that feel this way, to even think cro is in the same sentence as revis is as misinformed as can be.

    Awful game in Pitt?

Wallace had 7 catches on 10 targets, 3 of the catches were in a zone coverage.

His long was a 23 yard reception and he had ZERO TDs.

This from a guy who averages about a 50 yard reception each game and is not easy to keep out of the EZ.

No way in hell would I call that awful.

The stats show he gave up 3 receptions in man coverage on 6 attempts. We now have a respected blogger also saying he gave up 3 receptions and pointing to him being in good position a few times when targeted which seems to jibe with the other source.

And again, we're talking about over the course of the god damn season junc, not your cherry picked game. Why do we continue to harp on your cherry picked game? You can cherry pick games for every player in the league where they played poorly.

I've told you that I don't even recall his performance in that specific game. Maybe I'll look at it tonight if I feel like it, but it's insignificant as far as I'm concerned.

Peyton Manning threw 4 INT's against Dallas, he is always throwing INT's. /junc
