I'm really looking forward to this game. I'll be in Indianapolis and it is sure to be rocking with it being a prime time game. I think this game will be completely different than last year. The Colts just flat out aren't as explosive or as good as they were last year. They aren't winning games like they did last year. Collie toasted you guys last year and he is gone now. Manning just hasn't been himself this year. I expect your blitz to be much more effective this time, and I'm sure you will get some hits on Manning, it just depends on whether Manning can take advantage a couple of times when you bring everybody on the blitz. . In recent weeks, much to my surprise, the Colts have been stopping the run and running the ball really well. I think this new found style will make sure that this game is extremely close. I don't expect the Colts to run for over 100 like they have but I think they will run it well enough that it will be effective. Everyone knows that you guys want to run it, I think Greene might have some success, but I don't see LT doing much. LT has never had big games against the Colts even when he was an MVP caliber player. I don't think his running style is favorable to having big games against a quick defense like the Colts, whereas a big power guy like Greene can go off. Our secondary is just horrendous, mainly due to the fact that our top 6 guys are out. We are playing guys off the street, so I would not be shocked to see 1 or 2 big plays from Sanchez down the field like the one to Edwards last year. Lacey who got burned on that play last year got toasted again yesterday. This is going to be a tough one to call. I think the Jets are the better team and I love Rex Ryan but it is going to be tough to come into Indianapolis for a night game and win. Although, I won't be shocked if you do. If you guys can force 2+ turnovers, you might win going away. This may seem like stating the obvious but this game is going to come down to whichever team doesn't turn the ball over.
Pretty humble post. The Colts are one of those teams that are going to be tough no matter what. Road games in the playoffs are tough to win - period. And while they have lost a lot of playmakers through the season, the Colts have done a good job of filling holes and guys have stepped up. This will be a good battle. Its hard to say where the Jets are in comparison because you never know which team, or what units are going to show up for it. If the Jets from early in the season show up, it could be very good game. Otherwise, we are beatable.
welcome aboard and thanks for the kind words. and yes on paper the jets are a better team. probably better off at every position except DE and QB but you guys have peyton manning and you can never count him out
I don't see the Colts taking a 2 possesion lead. The way they play they keep the game close, the question is will the Jets break away and build a lead or will they hang around and give Peyton the ball with a couple minutes left.
Colts fan here, too (obviously)... It should be a good game, but I'll be pretty surprised if the Colts come away with a win. If we have Hayden and Session back, that will help out, but like the OP said, our secondary is pretty much garbage. Bethea is the only true starter we have back there right now, and it shows. Lacey seems to have regressed, and Francisco is just fucking terrible (as he should be- he was signed off the street). Anyway, just winning the division with 17 guys on IR has made this season a success in my mind... anything from here out is just gravy.
So far I have seen two Colts fans post and I have thought both of them were level headed and intelligent. This is going to be a tough game between two teams that may not be playing at the same level as last year but still have the ability to make plenty of noise in the playoffs. Keep up the good work Colts fans!
COColtsFan is right. The Colts have had something like 77 players on the roster this year and the 17 on IR. Don't know if those are any type of records, but just winning the AFC South and getting to the playoffs is more than most of us expected.
I read the other day that there have only been 18 Colts who have played in every game this season. Haha.
I'm not a Colts fan obviously but I still expected the Colts to be in the division race down the stretch. I didn't think Jacksonville would completely implode the way they did.
Pats fan here. I think if both teams play well (i.e., very few TO's, penalties and drops), the Jets should win. The Colts offense has lost half its firepower. That said, the Colts D, especially their run D, looks very good again. They're a very fast D overall, with 2 passrushing DE's. Jets have to get their run working so that Sanchez can succeed with play action. And Jets receivers MUST step up and make the catches, the drops have hurt them as much as anything this year.
Two good post guys. It is nice to see that there are fans from the other side that don't show up just to talk smack. It should be a very good game between to good teams. The Colts have a solid foundation and I hear they have a pretty good QB who can play. This might turn out to be a pass happy game as both teams have suspect secondaries. The Jets will need to get the running game going to keep manning off the field and limit the damage he is capable of inflicting. Best of luck on Sat.
By nature, we pay more attention to these teams, like you do the AFC East. I expected Jacksonville to do just that. I am surprised Delrio is still there given their lack of success. They are just like the Texans. They put way too much into beating the Colts and when they don't, the air goes out of their balloon with a loud pop. Given the history of the Colts & Titans, the closeness of the game yesterday wasn't a total surprise.
