60 Minutes Yep. Belichick told his people to get ready as if they are going to play 60 minutes. They won't, of course, but if they are going to play they are going to play. But lots of teams believe in resting and getting healthy. It's not as if this is a debate that is well settled.
I just think that after the last few weeks, going out there and playing a full game, and trying to find some rhythm on offense, defense, or even special teams would be a damn good idea. It is one thing to rest guys who are dinged up. Or to rest guys once the game is in hand, or after having executed well for a couple of quarters. Its another to just mail the last week in.
New England also has a real bye coming up, we don't. When Belichick was here with Parcells and that whole staff in 1998 we had the bye and #2 locked in, they played the starters the whole way, against New England of all things. I think we need to get the passing offense some game action to keep them going and see who can do what in the secondary to get an idea for the playoffs.
So I'm confused, are we still backing into the playoffs with an 11-5 record and winning our last game?
lol I think people have to give up the 'backing in' nonsense after today's game, there's no way we would have lost if the game had meant something since we beat 'em by 31 with a halfhearted effort.
How were we limping? our 2 most recent real games were against the 2 seeds in each conference on the road and we won one and nearly won the other. We had an awful 2 game stretch against NE and Miami but we have moved past those games w/o a doubt. I feel better about this team now than I have since October. I am still worried about our D, if we do not pressure peyton it will be near impossible to win.
I think it's fair to say that anyone claiming an 11 win team backed into the playoffs doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.
