This is what you're dreaming up and trying to force feed us, not what actually happens. TA is "thrown at". The completion percentage against Cro is 44.6%, against Lito it's 59.4%. How is Cro's worse? What context do you need? Those are his numbers for the season. I'll send you a PM after I finish responding. It's pretty self explanatory. Over the course of the season, that's the number of times he's been thrown at, number of completions he's given up, Yards & TD's he's given up, INT's he's made and passes he's defended. Then it's all compiled into the opposing QB's rating when throwing at him. The per game numbers just divide the totals by 15. Again he doesn't have a higher completion % against him than Lito. Did you have a few egg nogs before reading it? It shows that the numbers you said you'd "be happy" with him giving up are actually worse than what he's giving up and much better than what you're implying he gives up. Please tell us what #2 CB's you'd prefer that are having better seasons in your mind.
you mean the miami game when we couldnt get a consistent pass rush to save our life? you mean the Brandon Marshall who has shit on plenty of good CB's in his short career? you mean the only game this year where people gave props to Chad Henne? im not saying anything about the validity of whatever stats you two were discussing. I'm just saying Cromartie is an awesome number 2 CB to have. And his 1 bad game was against Marshall on Henne's best day of the year. and for the few long balls hes been beaten on hes broken up twice more. i dont have stats but that is an observation im making. im not saying hes hands down the best 2nd CB but I'll take him over ALOT of other #2's.
His play has declined as the season has worn on. He's not able to keep up with the speed guys and seems of out of sorts. He's definitely not the same player he was in September but he's still a good # 2. I would not re-sign him though
The Miami game was clearly his worst game of the year. Of course someone arguing that Cro isn't good would point at that game. Over the course of the season he's been a very good #2 CB.
I don't know what bgames you guys are watching. Bal: beat all night by boldin, Housh NE: struggled in 1st half, was grat in 2nd half matchd up w/ Mos Mia: torched all night by Marshall Minny: beaten by Moss on 3rd and 15 which set up getting beat by Moss on a 3rd and 17 for the Td to get Minny rolling. he gets so much credit for doing a good job against Moss but who didn't do a good job against Moss this year? the man quit. Det: Nate Burleson torched him all game Cle: beaten for GT TD late in game to send it to OT Cin: beaten all 1st half by Ocho, did a good job in the 2nd half. Pitt: destroyed all game by Mike Wallace chi: beaten all game by various receivers. The comp % against Cromartie shows 64.5. 64.5% is worse than 59.4%, right? is this Lito from last year or this year? Those are the #s for the season then what does comapring Lito 2010 have to do w/ Cromartie? we were discussing Lito in THIs D on the jets last year and on Minny his opponents are still catching at a lower comp % than Cromartie. I don't believe for a second he has allowed on average 3 recs per game. Even in his good games he has allowed at least 3 and in his bad ones he has allowed much more. According to your #s he has a higher comp % against. read it again. You are using the 44.6 # from the rec column against Lito's 59.4 from the comp % column. In the rec column you have Cro at 44.6 and Lito at 19, in comp % you have Cro at 64.5 and lito at 59.4. You are throwing out #s to fool some of thos other posters, you should know by now you cannot get nonsense like that past me. I ask again, please post the game by game #s. Ohhh so it's the fault of the pass rush. Interestingly I popped in the SD playoff game this morning. We didn't have a great pss rush that game and yet Rivers had few options to throw to. Simms was commenting on how no one was open many times despite Rivers having plenty of time to throw. If Cromartie is an awesome #2 then we'd have a much better defense. He is an average at best(this year) #2. he has #1 ability and he'll flash that at times shich fools people into thinking he is better than he is but each week I see him getting beat more than any other DB and it is usually at crucial times. Our #2 corner has been a weakness most of the year, Lito is not more talented but he did a better job a year ago than Cromartie has this year.
I see it now, the columns do not match up. His comp % is lower than Lito but again who cares about Lito 2010?
I don't know where you're getting this 64.5 number from? Cro was thrown at 101 times, given up 45 receptions for a 44.6 completion %. I'm not trying to fool anyone. Lito was thrown at 32 times, given up 19 receptions for a 59.4 completion %. Yes those are Lito's #rs from this year.
I just threw Lito out there because you seemed to be saying he was better. To put it into context, Cromartie has the 3rd best completion percentage against for all CB's in the league. Revis is #1.
I was saying he was better as our #2 last year. I know you have that QB rating graph against DBs from last year. can you post that and is there one for this year?
Sheppard gave up a 74.9 QB rating last year, but Revis also gave up a 32.3 last year. We had a much better pass rush last season. Dwight Lowery out performed Lito at CB#2 last year. I'm sure you wouldn't say he's better than Cro - or maybe you would? I don't have that image from last year handy, I can try and find it.
we did but as the season progressed the pass rush was dying which was why we let Feely go to get Jason Taylor. I am not saying Lito is more talented, I think Cro has as much, if not more, talent as any corner in nthe game but talent alone doesn't get the job done and he has been hurting us. If he takes a reasonable deal I'd be ok w/ signing him but if signing him prevents us from re-signing Edwards or Holmes I let cromartie walk.
I've said all along that I think Cro was a 1 year rental unless we signed him when we traded for him. Unfortunately we had king revis to deal with. I'm guessing someone will overpay him as a #1 after this year.
You were wrong, the numbers are right there for you to look at and now you are playing dumb like you can't understand them? I see WSW has pretty much exhausted all logical FACT based arguments that you claim to love being a part of so much. The numbers don't support your claim and for you to be telling use he gives up 3 catches per half when that has been plainly proven not to be the case is just ignorant. You have a perception of him from a few bad games and are not thinking about the games in which he gave no catches or something along those lines. Those games count just as much as the bad games he has had.
I love how you guys just accept any #s you see. no context, no links but you see #s and they must be right. I have to check the game tapes, there is no way on average he is giving up 3 recs a game especially when he has a few games where he has given up a heck of alot more than 3. I don't have a perception, he's been getting beat all year. he has had a couple of good games and that is it. Those #s show 3 recs for Mike wallace against him. if you look at those #s you'd think he played well but wallace had him beat on a few different pass plays and balls weren't thrown int he right spot PLUS he had penalties and he got away w/ 2-3 penalties that weren't called. he was abused by wallace yet the #s don't show that- you get that from watching the games and watching him get beat time after time.
Don't pretend like you don't know where they came from. I provided you with additional information that others don't have. It's sad when you're so hard headed - everyone can see how foolish you're being.
I know but they don't and regardless where they come from I don't trust them. Again, according to those #s he allowed just 3 recs against wallace. Sounds good, right? you tell me if he had a good game against wallace? I'm hard headed b/c I KNOW this game and I KNOW cromartie has been mediocre at best for us this year.
Apparently you don't KNOW anything in regards to Cro's play this year. You claimed that you'd "be happy" if he "only gave up 60 yards and a TD per game", but you've been shown that he's actually done much better than what you'd "be happy" with and still claim to "KNOW" he's been mediocre. I can only assume your definition of mediocre is worse than what you claim you'd be happy with. (60 yards/TD game). He's been one of the better #2 CB's in the league. Keep arguing what's happened in nyjunc dream world is fact though.
