Yeah I was going to go with Ozzie, but Polian is pretty good. Polian just finds ways to keep his players in house. he lets them develop, and as far as the offense goes, he just needs to let Peyton coach them into superstardom. I really feel because Peyton spends 30 hours a day in the film room and what not, the rest of those guys just follow suit. I would bet the Colts as a whole, spend more time in the facillities during the offseason, than any other team in the NFL, because Peyton simply expects so much of his guys. But I still think Ozzie is the best drafting GM, the knock is QB, but he did go after Kyle Boller in the early 00's, and once you draft a QB that high, you have to give him basically 5 years to get it. I believe Flacco was drafted 6 years after Boller.
No doubt...AJ Green is probably the best WR entering the draft in 10 years. AJ Green will be a top 3 pick and there is no way the Jets will have a shot...it's nice to dream. Holmes , Cotchery and drafting Pettis (plus Keller) would give the Jets 3 excellent wideouts. I wouldn't be concerned...we'll have enough to sign Harris and Holmes. Cromartie's season will dictate if we re-up him. It's almost a certainity Edwards will be gone, unless Holmes goes on another binge.
My greatest fear is that they trade down & accumulate more picks. Granted, their drafts of 2006-2008 were awful compared to what the JETS accumulated in that same time span. 2009 was better and I think last year's was pretty good. I would prefer they get stuck with having to draft at wherever the Raiders finish & having to pay the big rookie contract that Belicheck hates so much (but that could all change w/the expected lockout next year).
oh no doubt. I was just saying what if... God wouldnt it be wonderful to watch unfold on draft day? But in reality, this year we need to trade back and stockpile picks, badly. Unless we can move up for an almost sure-fire future All-pro, we need to start stockpiling good quality cheap depth players (those 2nd-3rd round picks)
I only glanced over the thread, but if they agree to a new CBA before the draft next year, it should mean that the Rookie Payscale will be in place for the 2011 draft. That would not only mean a bigger chance that the Pats don't trade down, but also increase the chances that they go with a Running Back.
Raiders always have like 2 big upsets. Being 6-10 or 7-9 does not make them top ten pick most likely.
The top 12 picks last year were 7-9 and under. So its not a false statement to say that a 7-9 team wouldn't be in the top ten in draft order.
You're wrong. Beli is one or two drafts from having the ability to be back on top. With Brady resigned, and a fair amount of talent on offense (needs a RB) He can go back to concentrating on defense...and He's as good as Rex at that. Pats have two glaring holes in their roster. DE (age of best players) and QB. Brohm? If Brady goes down again at 35 they are F*d.
That's partially negated by Polian getting the rules changed to suit the players he knows how to draft. Though he brought the Jills close many times as well. And let's face it...Manning fell into his lap as soon as he got to Indy. He's been good...But lucky as well.
I don't think that Peterson or Green will reach New England. They would prob have to trade up to have a chance at those two. They probably have a shot at Ingram, but then again the Broncos, Seahawks, Buccaneers, and Browns all will probably do worse than the Raiders. The Seahawks and Bucs have to consider Ingram strongly. Green is too good not to go in the top 5. The Panthers, Bills, Browns, Seahawks and basically every other team in the top 12 need a legit #1 (except for the Pats).
I'm wrong.........that's your opinion. You seem to be almost trolling, with the nonsense you're spewing. The problem is the Pat's drafts lately have been below average. Belicheck picked up a few good young players this past April, but before than..it's been very suspect. Pat's have a fair amount of talent on Offense?? After Welker & the 2 new TE ends and of course Brady....it's average/to below at best. Their O-line is very questionable and RB situation is dicey with Faulk now gone. Their defense really lacks playmakers.....a few good young secondary players, Mayo, Banta-Cain and Cunningham are positives. D-line is almost in a re-build mode. QB is is a hole??? Don't understand that, if most teams loses their 1st QB they're screwed.
why are ppl scared of the patirots in the draft there one of the worst drafting teams in football theyll draft another tight end or cornerback and he will be on the browns, or chiefs within 2 yrs
They suck at guessing who will be good, yes, I can agree. But with almost sure things up there like Ingram, Green, Peterson, and Von Miller its a little hard to miss .
I hope they select AJ Green or Mark Ingram.... If the Pats choose AJ Green, it means they will not get Julio Jones, who is a more dangerous NFL threat. Jones is bigger, as fast, and much more physical with more over all talent. Jones will be a beast in the NFL. AJ Green will be good, but not what Julio will be. M Ingram won't be a good NFL RB. He is too small and top heavy. He can run over 220lb college LBs and safeties, but the NFL size and speed will stop him in his tracks. He was certainly not the best player last year to win the Heisman (not that is has anything to do with his draft status) he was just on the best team. Most fans of Alabama would have rather seen Trent Richardson start over Ingram. He looked good against MSU yesterday, but he will not be a starter on any NFL roster.

I don't claim to be an expert.... but from what I know, AJ Green is the best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson, and Julio Jones might be 4th or 5th in the que of the receiver prospects this year.
You got a lot of stuff in their I don't agree with. AJ Green is going in the top 5 Green >>> Jones Your stuff about Mark Ingram...I have no idea how to respond to that. I think Ingram is going to be a quality running back on the next level
