Such a bizarre team this is, as if it wasnt weird enough the way the Chargers are slow to start off the season and then get hot every year but I just noticed that this team is

#1 Total Defense, #1 against the pass and #2 against the run

#2 Total Offense, #3 Passing and #17 Rushing

yet they're 8-7 and missing the playoffs

turnovers, and poor special team play, terrible coaching.

yet they are going to keep Norv... it boggles my mind

    Their receivers are too tall.

    I do not believe so.

The 1967 Colts had tougher luck, though.

They did not make the playoffs even though they did not lose a game until the season finale.

    #1 in total offense
    #5 in total defense
    #1 in net yardage

They never realized how hard it is for Rivers to throw the ball so high up in the RZ

Points for and against are typically a better way to judge a defense than yards. A combo of the two is best but ranksing purely off of yardage stats are not all the good.

I'm also gonna go out on a limb and guess you left special teams off the list for a reason because thiers are complete shit.

On the plus side, kaeding won't have a chance to melt down in the playoffs this year and thye can't blame it on him.

Either way, the Jets were #1 in defense and #1 in rushing in the NFL last year and they managed to only finish 9-7 (and barely made the playoffs). Shit happens, that's sports.

The Chargers could have done work in the playoffs, good thing they threw up an egg against Cin. They bought into the hype

its ok another year of old norv will mean another year the jets dont have to worry about san diego. how they keep him, actually how he got another head coaching job is beyond me. its akin to herm going out and getting a job right now.

AJ Smith fired marty after a 14-2 season and the bolts have been going downhill ever since.

Wouldnt say all that, regular season record wise yes but they've gotten farther in the postseason.

We were #1 in defense and #1 in rushing offense last season and almost missed the playoffs.

    It happens.

Or last year, unless you count the bye week.
