Is Targeted a recognized stat? Would be nice to get a dropped/targeted ratio, which would be far more telling.
Another source has the following for drops/targeted for the Jets players: Code: Player TA Drops PCT Cotchery 73 9 12.3% Keller 92 9 9.7% Holmes 90 5 5.5% Edwards 92 4 4.3%
Last year he was thrown at 104 times and credited with 6 drops for a 5.7% drop rate. You're thinking about his pre-Jet days where he was very poor. In 2008 for example, he was thrown at 128 times and credit with 19 drops for a 14.8% drop rate.
What he's "known as" and how he's performed as a Jet are two completely different things, and it's obvious which one actually matters.
To ignorant Jet fans, "known as" matters about 10000x more than what they're actually seeing on the field.
you realize he has dropped like 1 pass this year? you also realize this can easily be corrected? look at his entire season...looks corrected to me.
Harris, Holmes, Cro, Edwards. If we are going to have to dish out big money to a receiver I would rather it be Holmes. But Harris has to be priority number one
^ I don't see much mud-flinging when WSW and co. are backing up their arguments with solid stats when ignorant posters who don't bother to watch games throw around comments like "Braylon has stone hands...derp, derp." Seriously...
If you want to debate with civility it happens. Those are the best debates. When your opinion defies logic to the point of embarrassing insanity, or just a stupid post like the one you used as an example, then you get attacked.
...and then they complain and don't understand why people have resorted to insults. It's sad, I like logic and well thought out arguments...sprinkled with insight.
Of the 57 receivers who have taken over 600 snaps this year, Braylon is tied for the 4th fewest drops. When you look at thrown at/dropped percentage Braylon is the 11th best of those 57. These are the only guys with a better thrown at/dropped percentage in that group: Kevin Walter Larry Fitzgerald Eddie Royal Brandon Lloyd Mario Manningham Louis Murphy Anquan Boldin David Gettis Lee Evans Mike Thomas
