What stat? It's completely subjective, which invalidates it as a stat. That's like saying that ANJI has 38 'Almost-good' posts and 600 'reasons to print something from the internet and put it at the bottom of a cat box'. It's nice if you're one of those D&D guys, but it's not something that can honestly be quantified.
Whether you feel his findings are empty and don't translate, doesn't make it invalidate. Maybe it's incomplete as he stated at the end. But the proof is right. Alot times you might have a feeling a player doesn't do X on the field, but it is hard to quantify. And even though this isn't a complete picture of what our Quarter is or will be because he is young, it fits the description of what is going on out there. The kid throws too many bad passes. You can claim it is subjective, but it's happening...... and I hope changes but it isn't made up or a witch hunt against Marky.
I'm not claiming he doesn't have a ton of flaws in his game. He has some really unhealthy tendencies and they cause me a lot of concern. But when you try to invent a stat to 'adjust' a player's official stats, an invented stat that cannot be honestly quantified for it's intended purpose, that smacks of agenda... ...and you can tell the like-minded people by how readily they will latch onto it, however invalid, to help support whatever running argument they have. There is no 'proof', just speculation. You could argue that every errant pass he throws is a possible interception, and that part of your argument will be no more empty than it is for this 'stat'. Stats are there to analyze what actually happened, not what might have happened.
I wish I didn't, it's seriously sad that I can more constructive talk about the Qb who won a super bowl a couple years ago in blue than the Quarter back of my Jets because mental nancys like you with your napoleon complex. Quit being butt, you a grown man.....
Please allow myself to postulate and contemplate that which you articulate: lmao... hahahaha you have to be kidding. I love when you post. Love it. I always laugh. You calling some one a "mental nancy" is like Chastity Bono calling MBGreen, Butch. This is freakin comedy. Keep posting, in fact I think you should start threads, you would be in the running with deathstroke.
Well I guess we can disagrees, because stats aren't as plain and cut as you are defining them in your post. No one stat tells the story of a team or a game, but because Mark is at the top of this short survey doesn't make it invalid. Whether you accept this formula, is a different story... maybe this will take off like QB rating. Time will tell. Stats are there to track, project, and compare. Making it sound as if it is pure speculation like an Espn all-time Cowboys vs 49er's game is wrong. It did happen and if he continues to throw these many bad balls it's going to turn eventually.
The funniest part about this whole thread is that pretty much every accepted passing metric that's out there will show Sanchez near the bottom of the league anyway.
You're trying to quantify something that didn't happen. That's a fool's errand no matter how you try to argue it. Exactly. If someone wants to criticize Sanchez, they don't really need to invent stats to do it.
Do you really need stats to tell you that Sanchez is not very good right now? He is what he is, a very inconsistent 2nd year QB. The first 2 years are not easy on QB's unless they are just that good. (he clearly isn't) He has improved in most area's from last year, I would think that is a good sign.
I wonder to myself, are you dorkishly laughing as you are doing all this Ename dropping like a school girl with a sidekick??? You love Sanchez(I'm guessing) I don't, stop being butt hurt. You a grown man.
Exactly. An inconsistent 2nd year QB is inconsistent? What a surprise... He's made a lot of progress...let's cut him some slack...he's got the rest of his career left. If the last couple weeks haven't told you anything...Mark is showing he's ready for the playoffs.
Tom Brady recently broke the consecutive passes thrown without an INT record. I watched Woodson drop an INT that hit him right in both hands in the NE-GB game. Should we go back and adjust his stats so that he no longer holds that record?
He's thrown a lot less INTs in a lot more pass attempts this year, that's really the only improvement I've seen. Obviously that's key but his completion % and YPA are still unacceptable. It's probably not the week to bash him though since he played one of his best games against a good defense last week.
Exactly. No matter how you slice it though, he's improved in every area, even if it was just a slight change. You look at his stats compared to last year and everything is better across the board. Not too mention he's got a couple comeback wins under his belt to. I don't care what anyone says...I'm glad he's my quarterback.
