I have been hearing a lot of "the Jets need to win this game Sunday to go into the playoffs with some momentum". Do we really? Personally I would like 11 wins but I don't see how a win against the bills gives us much momentum. If we rest starters and lose I think there is no harm done. If we play and blow them out all they will read the next day is how they did it against a weak team lets see them do it against a good team. If we win a close one or worse lose that just opens up more questions but hey we can say the game didnt mean anything and write it off as a loss by circumstance. I want to see the guys play but not for momentum but just for the simple fact of staying sharp. Wondering how you guys see it. Some recent history: Saints last season lost last 3. Win Superbowl. The chargers won how many games in a row going into the playoffs last year and we all know how that ended up. The Giants in 07 played that last game but it was against a historic regular season team and a close game gave them confidence they could beat the patriots. The Bills are far from a measuring stick team.
I would rest every starter and get ready for round 1 of the playoffs. This last game is meaningless and the only thing we can get out of it is losing key players to injuries.
If we lose to this Bills team, even with our back ups, we shouldn't even bother with the play-offs, just forfeit. The Bills suck that bad.
I think a win would help. Losing four of five entering the postseason isn't a good thing for any team. Of course there are exceptions, but conventional wisdom says no. And I know what happened with New Orleans last year, but there's a huge difference between being the #1 seed and having homefield throughout and going on the road. Sanchez also seems like he needs to get used to playing in the cold. If I was Rex, I'd be going all-out for a "W" this weekend.
No- We need to get our players healthy and have great practices. Once we get Eric Smith I think it'll make a much bigger difference then the casual fan realizes.
No obviously not but id still be good to win. I want to see an 11 win season as well. 10 wins doesnt cut it after a 9-2 start.
I don't want to compare this team to the Saints last year. Your right number 1 seed is huge difference. Brought them up because I remember a lot of the momentum talk around them last year.
We have a TON of banged up players, I'd rather see them get healthy since in all likelihood the 6th seed is what we'll be anyway.
I don't agree. The Bills are looking good. This division next year is going to be a division from hell.
tough call either way, some guys could use the rest, you want the players to stay sharp at the same time. if the jets lose, hopefully the whole world counts them out again, and then they show up strong like last year in the 1st round.
Playoffs are a different story, they are going to have grueling practices and will be fired up because it's win or go home. This exact team has experience in this "road" to the playoffs. What does it matter if we win if we have mostly backups in?
Yes, the Bills have a chance at getting the number 2 draft pick with a Jets, Broncos, Lions, and Bengals win Sunday.
That was a fluke. Logic still dictates that you rest your starters before the playoffs if you have a chance to do so.
HAHA- How much did you love knocking Miami out? Those fags haven't been back since. I assume you watched the 13-10 loss to the Chiefs in OT. Did your D shut them down or was it just a bad day?
Our 2010 D doesn't shut any team down (that is until we draft Bowser, get Woodley through free agency, and extend POZ and Whitner) The Chiefs are just inconsistent on offense.
