I'm not much of a conspiracy guy but I agree that it was an effort to change the subject by the Jets.

For Christmas my wife got me tickets to see Lombardi on Broadway tonight. My Shoes were wet from the snow when I got in the theater. Got on the escalator down after presenting my tix. Feet go out. Catch myself, slip again. Barely catch myself before crashing into the guy in front of me. Mike Francesa turns around and asks me if I'm alright. Despite hating the guy, I strangely felt no urge to say anything at all. Id venture a guess he'll be talking about it tomorrow.
