I have to work one of the weekend days of 1/8-1/9/2011. I tried to check on the NFL.com schedule, but is there anyway to know, at this point, on which of these days the Jets will play their wild card playoff game. Will this be affected by whether we win or lose vs. the Bills? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I really would like to be off the day the Jets play. Many thanks.
Either Saturday or Sunday. There's really no way to know for sure when we'll play until after this coming weekend finishes up.
If things stay as is I think we likely get the Saturday at 4 (not sure if they start at 4, 4:15 or 4:30). The NFL will want Vick and Manning in the best time slots. My guess is Vick will get the Saturday night primetime game and the Manning will get the Sunday 4:15 start. Since they do one AFC game and one NFC game each day we probably end up with the early game saturday. Still wont know for sure until next week.
Eagles on Saturday night and Colts at 4:15 on Sunday is an impossibility IF Seattle win the NFC West as Seattle cannot host an early game on Sunday. Seattle could host the early game on Saturday, however. Of course, that would cause the Eagles (or Bears) game to be played on Sunday.
I think you can bank on Eagles or Bears whoever is the 3 seed in the Sunday late spot. The thing is I am not sure the NFL would want KC and St.Louis both playing at home on the same day in the playoffs. Also the Jets are actually a team people want to see these days, a lot of it is cause of the negative story lines but they are becoming a team that is shown nationally quite a bit. I am usually pretty good at predicting the schedules using the NFL/Networks logic. My Prediction based on who I think hosts games. Sat -4 at St. L Sat -8 at Indy Sun - 1 at KC Sun -4 at Bears I think Eagles get the 2 seed as the Packers beat the Bears. If Seattle manages to win then they would probably get the 8pm Sat game, KC the 4pm Sat and Indy will get the early Sunday. The thing is you do not know if we are playing in Indy or KC - I think KC wins and gets the three but I have a feeling that the Browns may give the Steelers a game at home which if they pull off makes us the 5 playing at Indy.
I think if Seattle wins, they'll play at 4:30 eastern time on Saturday. Seattle has hosted the opening playoff game in the past. my predictions Saturday at 4:30- Saints at Rams or Seahawks Saturday at 8:00- Ravens at Colts Sunday at 1:00- Jets at Chiefs Sunday at 4:30- Packers at Bears With that, we basically agree. We only differ in that I think it doesn't matter whether the Rams or Seahawks win this Sunday night as far as when the 4-5 NFC game is played.
There is a chance we play on a Saturday!? If that's the case, I am taking off work as soon as we find out.
Sweet Baby Revis...... PLEASE let the JETS play Sunday the 9th. I'll promise not to curse at the TV........ as much as I usually do. Thanks you
this is what it will be. easily the least attractive game is first game on saturday. you got that one right. ravens colts just like last year on sat at 8 makes sense. packers bears more attractive game then jets so they get the 4 PM game.
I agree, I was not really thinking much about the Seattle hosting the game because I do not see it happening but it makes sense to put it in the opening game slot.
Basically, if Seattle wins the Jets will 100 percent be playing on Sunday. If not, it's more like 50/50.
For what it's worth I'm thinking we are nailed on for the early game Saturday. The Jets and the Chef's are the poor relation in this get together so I say we will play early.
I believe the dates and times will be announced sometime during the Rams-Seahawks game or immediately upon its conclusion.
I was thinking no matter what happens with the NFC West they will put that game Saturday at 4, if you look at the past few years that is when the least desirable game is played (TV Wise) Colts Saturday Night like last year and the Jets will play on Sunday. Not sure which network has which timeslot though.
