    I do too.

The thing is up until last year, NJ hadn't been blessed with a major storm for a long time.

I know, this is the 4th or 5th major storm since last winter started.

Normally we get one of these a year, maybe one every two years

    ---

Yes, 4WD, usually put 15 50lb bags of salt or so in the bed, to be loaded on the spreader that's mounted on the back.

You mount the plow from in the cab? That's bad ass. I can't so that.

That could be a failure point though. I assume you can mount it manually if need be.

Not so much for a 56 year old guy with colon cancer. Well, at least I had it in August, before I lost my landscaping biz because of it. They cut the shit out. It's been a real good year for me.

Sorry about that. I read your post thinking you were just procrastinating making the purchase.

Actually, in a way, I got lucky. I was getting heat stroke when I was working, and after my second trip to the hospital for an IV, they lokked up my butt. I was getting dehydrated because I have colitis, which in my case means my body passes water when it acts up... out me arse.

When they did the colonoscopy, they found some late stage 1. They wanted to scrape the polyps and do chemo, and I said F that. Take the whole 5 inch section out, and they did but with no chemo as I preferred. I opted for more agressive surgery, wanted no part of chemo, but that meant a bag of shit on my side for 3 weeks... and that meant no landscaping.

So, I'm alive, and cancer free and otherwise still pretty healthy. Broke, at least until I can sell off my equipment in the spring. Could have been worse. Having colitis likely saved my life. Go figure.

I'd thought about posting the story here, but didn't until someone said (sorry P hater) go buy a snowblower. I am blessed, I have a sis who is carrying me financially for the time being. Not too many people get that lucky, to have such a great sis. You never know people's situations or even who they really are on an MB unless they spill the beans. I did not intend to post about this... sorry. It was a knee jerk impulsive thing.

It's strange the way things like that happen.

Are you selling your entire business; clients and equipment?

I'm sure you can sell a successful landscaping biz for good $$.

I was a solo , meaning no employees. Being unable to work for a month... I lost my entire customer base. Killed me to have to call them all. I also lost a couple of 10 to 15k planting design and install jobs. Basically, the worth of the biz is in my trailer and equipment. That should still pull in about 12 to 15k.

I'm thinking about a hot dog truck. I don't need a whole lot of money, the house is paid for, but I love to cook, short hours, low cost start up. I would sell more than dogs, I'd do something along with that which would be different. Maybe BBQ. More like these "food trucks" you may have heard about. Biggest problem is getting the right location. The colitis would not stop me from a biz like that... in landscaping, it's a death blow.

I have always found when things look bleakest, that is when something good happens. Faith... it's about faith.
