    I think he's right. Since it was a run play the clock will run until the ball is spotted then the ref would start the play clock.

    IMMEDIATELY. Even if the refs take a few secs to spot the ball, the play clock is already running.

    The play clock starts IMMEDIATELY. It doesn't matter if the ball is spotted or not.

    Yeah a caller earlier was just as good. "I don't think Sanchez played that good. The receivers were wide open. Even a bad quarterback could throw those passes."

    Can you imagine if the refs could determine how much time elapsed before setting the play clock.
