He coached Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis. I want him coaching David Harris.

I want his toughness on this CS. I want him badly.

    Goodbye Bob Sutton.

Maybe he'd accept DC. As much as I love the idea, I doubt he'd go from head coach to a position coach without sitting for a year or two to see what other offers he might get.

He's not going to get many offers after the lack of professionalism he showed all season long.

I think he'll find a job as a coordinator on someone's staff. Rex Ryan is the kind of coach that would hire someone like Singletary.

I see him taking the Marinelli/Tice/Callahan approach, going back to position coaching and doing what he does best.

He'd do a lot here and instill the attitude that this team wants to play with a lot further.

I think Singletary's pride would get in the way of accepting a position coach's duties. Would definitely like having him as defensive coordinator. He and Rex seem like two peas in a pod.

You take the work given to you. Every coach is prideful.

He has no DC experience and is a great LB coach. I want him where he thrives.

Educate yourself on what he's done as an assistant.

I hear that but I'm not sure he would willfully go from being a head coach of a storied team to a LB coach of the Jets. Singletary to me comes off as a perpetual achiever, always trying to be the best and have things go as he plans. Going backwards in the coaching food chain seems like it won't be an option but who knows at this point

Anyway.. I'd think he'd work brilliantly with Rex as a DC

There have been many HCs that have had to take a step back. The one thing I know for certain about Singletary is that hes a very smart person and will not rush into anything.

Totally down for this next year. Not sure if it would happen, but I feel Singletary would be a fine coach and would fit our personality very well.

I just didn't like the scene where he's yelling at Troy Smith on the sidelines. It was just not the time or the place. Poor judgment.

True. But if a position coach is doing that, it's not that big of a deal. Thurman and Westhoff yell at guys all the time. If Singletary is yelling at Bryan Thomas, it's not a big deal. When you get in a shouting match with your QB and you're the head coach, it's a big deal.

No way he gets a gig as a HC again. He's so unprofessional. As a DC maybe, although it seems like Sutton is just a Ryan puppet right now.

I'm totally on board with this.

Some coaches aren't cut out for HC gigs.....and Singletary is one of them. But the man is a helluva Defensive position coach.
