Jason LaCanfora reported that Singletary was fired after he refused to resign.

The 49ers fans that were abundant in New Jersey in the 1980s and 1990s will stay in hiding some more. Nice job with that, Mike!

Can't play with them, can't win with them....can't coach with them. Can't do it.

no shit, Mike....especially the "coaching" part.

So his major coaching accomplishment is taking his pants off in front of a room of dudes right?

I actually thought he was going to be a good head coach. As a 49ers hater, I am happy to have been so wrong.

Even with him coaching the 49ers I liked his act in 2008. He seemed like a tough, old school coach. Then, in 2009, I grew tired of it. It was like he was too over-the-top and even corny. This season I was totally against him. That chat he had with the SF newscaster early this year was a disaster.

This is meaningless to you guys (pics or GTFO issue here), but Singletary is practically a dead ringer for a lady who lives across the street from my parents.
Today I was talking on the phone with my father and he said, "Doesn't Singletary look like Betty from across the street?" I said, "Yeah."

There were a bunch of people whining for this guy in 2008.........lol where are they now?

You think he showed his ass to the owner, when he was asked to resign?

He is going to be a decent assistant LB coach somewhere, that is his ceiling.

I'll step up to the plate and admit to being one of them. I actually thought the nutbag was going to be a good head coach.
I guess he still could become one down the road, but I wouldn't bet on it. I've probably never been more wrong about a head coach.

Coincidentally, "taking their pants off in front of a room of dudes" is the major accomplishment of some of the posters in the main forum, for instance steves850 .........lol

Nah I meant the people calling for the head of Mangini (they were right about that) but the Jets lost out on a guy like MS because they waited so long to get Rex.......

Pretty sure Some asshole 9ers fan bashed me because I asked "who is mike singletary as a coach" or something of those lines, and then started to tell me how awesome he was gonna be. So much for that.

I think Singletary could be a serviceable coach, I mean lets be realistic when your QBs are Troy Smith, Shaun Hill, and Alex Smith your going to have some problems

Alex Smith was actually performing well, his insistance upon using Troy Smith is what cost him his job.

No real suprise. Everytime he makes the highlights, he is on the sideline screaming at someone.

Not everybody wins a Super Bowl in their first HC tenure. He will take what he learned in SF and go back to the drawing board, he definitely has a future in football.
