He's probably hoping the Eagles miss the playoffs. Just like I am. And just like me, he has no hope.

They announce the last week's flex game six days beforehand (sometime Monday afternoon) I believe.

Well, WAS-JAC has somewhat of a Jets angle to it (I don't think it'll much matter because I don't expect the Jets to drop their last two games), but 49ers-Rams is a much more important game.

    all money related

it is utter bullshit that they can't clear the snow in Phila. for a Monday night game

NBC doesn't want the game on Monday night for fear of losing viewers to the more important Saints-Falcons telecast on ESPN

Nobody cares about the Vikings having to play on short rest especially since they play Detroit in Week 17, but the Eagles are definitely being screwed by NBC here. They will have very short rest before their regular season finale which could decide whether they get the 2 or 3 seed.

The funny thing is if the game was never moved to Sunday night in the first place, the game would have been played today as the snow will not really get bad till the evening. Colts-Raiders should have been the NBC game tonight if not for cock-wavin' Favre. Whut an utta disasta.

well, the Jets angle is why I would say they could've considered it.

They like to show games in NYC area that Jets and/or Giants fans care about.

Anyway, I'm disappointed that because of NBC making a stupid decision, we're going to have NFL going up against two fairly good bowl games.

Sunday night would've been good (bowl game tonight is garbage).

It is a very weak angle, though.

I have virtually no interest in the game. My only concern is that I took Washington +7 (or +7.5 whatever it was). Otherwise, no interest.
49ers-Rams, on the other hand, is interesting to me beyond fantasy football and betting.

I'm disgusted by it. The league botched this postponement. Move the game to Monday, start it at 6 or 7 so that at least the first half does not conflict with Saints-Falcons, and take your fuckin' losses, NBC. Those prick bastards chose the Vikings-Eagles game. The Vikings, Eagles, and NFL fans have to suffer because of NBC's stupidity and greediness and the nation's great love for cock wavin' Favre.

Apparently the mayor of Philly announced a snow emergency and that everyone should stay home.

I don't know entirely if that's the reason but it seems to be that the conditions are terrible right now.

I am not far from Philadelphia. I am getting the snow just as bad, if not worse, than Philadelphia is getting it. I understand the game being postponed. My problem is that the game is being moved to Tuesday. I was under the impression that the snow would stop sometime on Monday. If that is the case, c'mon, they have to be able to remove the snow by Monday evening. Unless I get confirmation to the contrary, I will go on believing that moving the game to Tuesday was a decision made by NBC because they are afraid of going up against the Saints-Falcons game.

Is that a bad move on their part?

Not for them. For them it's a business decision. That's doesn't make it right, though.

The only thing I think the NFL dropped the ball on was not re-seeding the wildcard round after SD got a homen game after winning the division with an 8-8 record after the 2008 seasob

I had no problem with that. If the league reseeded for 8-8 teams, it would have to be done for all teams.

What if the Jets win the AFC East with a record of 11-5 in 2011 and the Ravens grab the first Wild Card spot with a record of 11-5 and what if the Ravens beat the Jets in the regular season? Under your plan, the Ravens would get to host a Ravens vs Jets playoff matchup.

It should be NBC's pick because it might be the only game where a playoff spot is on the line for both teams. Furthermore, it should be NBC's pick because that same network is probably going to have to telecast the playoff game involving the NFC West champ. Might as well let the nation view that particular team two weeks in a row, right? Both the Rams and Seahawks have not made many national TV appearances yet, if at all.

I wrote "might" because I haven't yet considered all the NFC tie-breakers. There might be a possibility that the Bucs-Saints game could decide a playoff berth for either team with the loser staying home for the playoffs. The Giants-Packers result would play into it, though.

I think Week 17 is the one week in which FOX or CBS cannot protect any games. Yisman would probably be able to confirm or deny this.

i have to agree with you here cakes. they are really screwing this up pretty bad.

my strike will be to watch the college games instead of the nfl game. they are often much better games anyway.
