5 game winning seasons were greeted with hysteria, we had no qb and a gm who thought the draft was a light breeze. Playoffs almost resulted in a procession and came around once every 15 years... Can we just enjoy the fact we are in the play offs and stop with the usual popular cynicism bullshit Yes we have corrections to make and frankly we are a way away from where we all want us to be but this franchise is going in the right direction. All you trolls and SOJ can go fuck yourselves
No because the Jets defense is supposed to be great and it's disappointing us big time. What I witnessed today, with the Bears basically scoring at will, was an atrocity. It needs to improve and it needs to improve drastically and fast. If it does, we can play deep into the playoffs. If it doesn't, this will be short lived.
Yea thats what Im saying. Whens the last time we have been to the playoffs back to back. We have the pieces to make a run. With a little luck we can still win a superbowl. Our pass rush is bad but how did the Bears D do with their great pass rush today. With a few bounces our way we can win any game.
couldn't agree more. Yeah I'm upset about today's loss but I'd rather be in the playoffs with a loss than have to wait until next week. To get to the super bowl you have to make the playoffs. It doesn't matter how you get there.
I witnessed the kotite years first hand , I wish some of the posters on here who slaughter this franchise had seen a 1-15 season. Its fucking painful Are we perfect..far from it but do we have an owner/gm/hc who want to win...this franchise will get there..
I understand your point, but I'm just pointing out that the Jets have not finished a season with exactly 5 wins since 1965.
on the other hand, that time Raul Allegre nailed that field goal in OT to put us at 8-8 and in the playoffs was a lot more fun.
Yeah I've been through all that, and with no internet to vent or find out any other info, just left with a hollow aching loss. Thank fuck for the www
I can only assume the bitchers are young people. I mean, I am pretty young, but after years of watching football, you begin to not react so quickly. Making the playoffs is great. Its unfortunate for the Jets, that the Patriots are having an outstanding year. Thats life. Win in KC and get a chance to knock NE out. Thats all I want.....a chance.
We got slaughtered in the WC game after that. The Allegre game was fun, though. The fact it was in Miami made it even better.
wait til you see your team get raped week after week after week with no young stars and then you can bitch. The haters on here are laughable , playing the soj card when they have no idea what the fuck it means
So did I, I attended every home game that year. (They won away in Arizona, I sat through 8 brutal home losses that year) This is a good post because it does put things in perspective. However, I do think it is fair for people to be disappointed that we are a 6 seed. Honestly, maybe I let myself get high off of all the hype, but I was not expecting a 6 seed. Somewhat disappointing, but of course Im glad they made the playoffs. I don't think anyone regrets that.
I've been a fan since '82. I saw the Mud Bowl, the Gastineau penalty, the Blair Thomas fumble, the fake spike, the Brien misses, etc. As a Jet fan you have to appreciate being in the playoffs or go become a Pats or Colts fan otherwise. Once the shit starts in 2 weeks, there's no reason to think we can't beat anyone on any given day.
The Jets did not get slaughtered in the House of Pain. They lost 17-10 and a Hail Mary pass went through Terance Mathis's hands.
