I haven't posted on this board in some time now. Mostly due to all the negativity that goes on here. I've seen 3 threads open up in the past hr about the jets backing into the playoffs. Ok for one, you really cant back in to the playoffs in week 16. Second we all knew at most the jets would fall into a 6th seed at best 5th seed after the loss against the pats. No I'm not happy with the Jets losing today. No I'm not happy with NE winning our division again. But if you told me back in August the Jets would have a shot at an 11-5 record and make the playoffs, I'll take that. That doesn't mean I'm satisfied with that, but I'll take it. I've been a jet fan since i was 7yrs old. 25yrs now. There arent too may yrs that i can remember that the Jets made back to back playoff appearances. Anything can happen once we make it in, so for now ill take this. OK NOW YOU NEGATIVE JET FANS GO AHEAD AND START THE BASHING.
We are a 10 probably 11 win team going to the playoffs. Your right theres no reason for so much negativity. That said its the internet and the internet is an anonymous hate machine.
Right now I'm not negative, but have been left feeling drained of blood for the last few weeks. We as fans all see different things in games, some good , some bad win lose or draw, but we all have opinions, neither is right or wrong. What you perceive as negative is just fans venting...maybe there should be a sticky for just this.
i mean yeah if your goal is just making the playoffs and bowing out 1st or 2nd rd i guess you could be happy. but i expected a hell of a lot more than that
idc, after watching the Giants in 2007 and Cardinals the next year it doesnt matter what your record is when you enter the playoffs. It doesnt matter how much you get blown out. The Cardinals got raped repeatedly over and over. The Giants couldnt beat the Cowboys, yet they went to Dallas and beat the best team in their conference in the playoffs. Nothing from the regular season matters anymore. You can't predict interecptions, fumbles bouncing the right way, missed field goals, nothing. Anything can happen.
But...... we haven't bowed out of anything yet. Why are you crying like a fat kid who has dropped his cake when we still have as much chance as anyone?
This was always a 9 to 11 win team; it just so happened that the tougher games came at the end. I agree 100% with the OP. To be complaining now about how the Jets will fail in the playoffs, two weeks before they even start, says nothing at all about the team, but a whole lot about the person doing the complaining.
I'm with the OP. I support the team win or lose. I wish we could have separate game threads for all of the posters that want to say we're doomed after we give up a first down in the first quarter. I gave up on those. Maybe all the game threads should be moved to the 'Cesspool" thread.
Let the negative JoeSchmoes do their thing. They can wallow in misery over football and then claim the high ground when the team loses. They aren't actually fans they are just losers who take pleasure in making an obvious prediction about the eventual failure of the team. Like they are going out on some big limb telling everyone the Jets won't win the superbowl each year. The odds aren't ridiculously stacked in the favor of that prediction or anything.
Great game today, little dissapointed in the secondary and the management/certain questionable calls by the coaching staff. That last pick...other than the fact that it was a pick....does not bother me really, good playn by the bears almost went our way and would have probably ended the game in our favor.
Yeah, I always wonder about that. Is it for attention, or are they trying to make themselves look 'smart' somehow?
