    A disgrace IMO

    Lambert #5?? - should be #1
Hines Ward and Poulamalo on the list - come on man, no Stallworth no Ham

    Woodson above Blount and Lambert?

    NFLN's Final List

    10 Bettis
    9 Swan
    8 Ward
    7 Troy
    6 Blount
    5 Lambert
    4 Woodson
    3 Harris
    2 Bradshaw
    1 Greene

I am not going through it all but I would have Lambert #1, Greene #2, Blount #3 (Probably Terry and Franco next)

I don't know if I could watch that show, but Joe Greene should be #1.

Lambert, Blount, and Woodson would be 2, 3, and 4 on my list and probably in that specific order.

Did Ernie Stautner make the list?

No, a Jets fan but I sure as hell was not watching the Jets in the playoffs in the 70's when I was growing up on Football.

It makes you realize what a shit organization we have been seeing all the greats they have had that noone in out history could hold a candle to.

Not a great order there. Usually the top 10 shows are better than that.

Harris was overrated. He's possibly the most overrated RB in the PFHOF. Lambert and Blount definitely were more important Steelers. Based on stats alone, Ward has Swann and Stallworth beat but Ward played in a very different era. I am not sure he is actually a better player than were Swann and Stallworth.

Also, Stautner deserved a place on the list. He is the only Steeler to have had his number retired. He was the greatest Steeler from the pre-Super Bowl era.

Agree with everything but Franco being overated, I thought he was a phenomenal RB. The Jim Brown bashing of him really used to get me. But without a doubt the top 3-4 spots in their history come form the other side of the ball.

It is hard to compare Hines to the other 2 because of when they played. I would probably put Stallworth ahead of Swan and both ahead of Ward -( I think the big game production for Swan was what tipped the voting over JS).

Even though I would put Lambert above Greene, I expected him to be #1 and have no problem with it.

Hines Ward over John Stallworth and Lynn Swann? Jerome Bettis and all his fumbles are on there?

    Thats a terrible list.

Lambert was a mean son of a bitch but the Steelers were known as the Steel Curtain because of Mean Joe Greene.

Rod Woodson is one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time. And he played in an era where it was harder to defend receivers.

Hines Ward has every receiving record for the Steelers except for yards in a game. That honor goes to Plaxico Burress in an overtime tie with Atlanta. I still give the edge to Swann and Stallworth only because it was a lot harder to pass back then. Today's league is nothing but pussy-ball.

Jerome Bettis is only one of the top 5 running backs in league history and HARDLY ever fumbled...

Franco is ranked 12th overall in rushing history and is tied with the Bus for 10th all time in rushing touchdowns.

Considering there's more than 10 Steelers in the hall of fame, narrowing down the "Top 10 Steelers of all time" is going to leave some noticeable names out.

That list doesn't even have Mike Webster or Dermontti Dawson on it. They are two of the greatest centers in the history of the NFL.

    1. Joe Greene
    2. Jack Lambert
    3. Rod Woodson
    4. Mel Blount
    5. Terry Bradshaw
    6. Franco Harris
    7. John Stallworth
    8. Hines Ward
    9. Troy Polamalu
    10. Lynn Swann

    IMO

How soon people forget how amazing Rod Woodson was in an era packed with dominant wide recievers.

Troy Polamalu has already shown in his 8 years he belongs on this list, he'll probably be higher when its all said and done.

There is a Jet bias with Rod Woodson.

It has to do with his analysis on NFLN, but we should separate the two.

    He's extremely anti-Jets

Woodson defintely belongs on the list but IMO no way ahead of Blount. When talking about greatest "Steelers" it also is a factor that his Superbowl came with the Ravens. I would proobably have him 6 or 7.

I do not think you can put Troy on the list "yet", when it is all said and done he could crack the top ten - except at some point you have to acknowledge some of the guys on the other side and he is behind at least- Greene, Lambert, Ham, Blount, Woodson

Webster is also some one who could be on the list at 9 or 10. He was the elite center of the league for an eternity.

Webster definetely gets an honorable mention at the very least, wanted to include him in there but like steelcurtain said about the noticeable names being left out.

Where the hell is Jack Ham?

    What about Greg Lloyd?

LBs need more respect on this list

    My list:

    1. Joe Greene
    2. Jack Lambert
    3. Rod Woodson
    4. Jack Ham
    5. Terry Bradshaw
    6. Mel Blount
    7. Mike Webster
    8. Troy Polamalu
    9. Ben Rothlisberger
    10. Greg Lloyd

Honorable Mention: Hines Ward / Jerome Bettis

Ham would be at least #5 on my list. Maybe I'd move him to 4 over Woodson but it is close. Ham probably meant more to Pitt than did Woodson because HJam played his entire career there and helped the team win titles.

Greg Lloyd was one of my favorite Steelers of the 90's. What a mean son of a bitch. Having said that though, he's just not good enough to be on this list.

To even be considered a top ten Steeler of all time you have to be Hall of Fame worthy in my opinion. Lloyd won't make the Hall of Fame.

My list would have been like this

    1. Joe Greene
    2. Jack Lambert
    3. Terry Bradshaw
    4. Jack Ham
    5. Mel Blount
    6. John Stallworth
    7. Lynn Swann
    8. Franco Harris
    9. Mike Webster
    10. Jerome Bettis

HM: Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, Dermontti Dawson, James Farrior, Casey Hampton, Aaron Smith

When all is said and done...Ben Troy and Hines will probably take a higher spot but for now...that's where I rank em.

Good post. People seriously forget how good Woodson was. Sadly for him he played in the era of Dion Sanders or he would have had much more press to back up his play.

For a fanbase that reveres Curtis Martin, knocking Bettis is just silly. The man was pittsburgh steeler football. Beat you up, run you over, and smile all the way to the end zone. If he was a Jet we all would have loved him.

Ward is another Steeler at heart. He plays hard every game and blocks like a tight end. He the type of pro any team would love to have around. Add that to leading them in almost all receiving stats and its a no brainer.

Swan, Stallworth and Bradshaw were all very good, but those teams won on defense. That is the reason many are quick to knock them down a peg despite excelent careers.

I would add Rocky Bleier for having perhaps the most kick ass football name of all time and beign a complete baddass off the feild as well. Attepmting a comback one year after being shot and hit with shrapnel from a grenade in nam is just fucking amazing.

To each their own I guess, but Rocky Bleier didn't even have the best Rocky name in NFL history.

Rocky Klever was a better name than Rocky Bleier.
