I know Sanchez hasn't been ruled out and there's a good chance he'll play , BUT if he doesn't what do you think about Brad Smith at QB? With the Bears pass rush Brunell would get killed, Brad might bring a different element that the Bears wouldn't prepared for.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD!!! It was bound to come up but seriously please close this thread. BTW I find it pretty funny that you said they wouldn't prepare for Brad Smith... So Brad Smith would take reps at quarterback with not one reporter realizing this or asking about it in a press conference?
Wow thanks for the insightful responses. I have no problem with people disagreeing but at least come at with a logical response.
I'd like to see him get a shot, but this game is too important to screw around, not like Kellen last year versus the Bucs. I would like to see him get extensive work next year at QB in the preseason(assuming he's back), I still think he could contribute as the backup QB, while retaining his current duties as WR/KR/Wildcat QB. Frees up a roster spot too, which is becoming more and more valuable to NFL teams...
I don't understand why it's so illogical. I didn't say the Jets were dumb for not doing it, just said they should consider it. Contrary the the posts in this thread I'm not asking for Joe McKnight or Nick Mangold to play QB, this is a guy with experience at the position. A guy who has played QB in college. I know Brunell is the backup QB but who has more game time experience under center? Brad Smith. I wouldn't expect him to go out there and light up the scoreboard but I just think he would give us a better chance to win then Brunell or Clemens would.
Brad Smith has 5 career pass attempts in the NFL. Brunell has 4,625 career pass attempts. Please explain how Brad Smith has more experience under center. Brad Smith isn't an NFL QB.
