I was soooo down after not just the Pats loss, but freakin Miami at home... don't condemn me, take pity. I was so down I couldn't even enjoy a big road win against the Steelers. It was like the balloon had burst and there just wasn't any air left in it. I could not get up for the game.

Even after the big win, I'm still stuck in SOJ land. That last drive by PIT was so reminiscent of a Herman Edwards play not to lose defense, I was just waiting for the ref's arms to go up. I thought Rex would put the hammer down, and close a game for a change with a big ass exclamation point! But oh no, we see the stupid 3 man rushes and receivers wide open over the middle as usual. We needed a missed PI call to win.

Just when I'm beginning to feel a spark of optomism, Rex has his foot fetish tapes fiasco. It's always something. Now Sanchez plays a passable game, and his throwing shoulder is all banged up. And fuckin Godell wants to investigate Westoff.

I wish I could be as positive as some of you are. Fuck me, I really wish I could. Can we win just one game against a good team and actually kick their asses? Chicago would be nice...

You are what your record says you are--the Jets are one of the best teams in football.

    Simple as that.

Still haunted by ghosts of Walton, Coslet, and Groh, eh? It's tough feeling to shake.

Always look at the big picture with each game.

Big Ben has the top QB rating in the 4th quarter, he's playing at home, the Jets have never won in Pennsylvania.

Of course it was going to come down to the last play of the game.

This is what I would say:

Before you jump do us all a favor. Gather up 10 like minded Jets fans and push them off the ledge first. Then, before you take the plunge, move a few steps to the right and then jump. We don't want you landing on another SOJF and survive.

they jets could only lose by letting up a touchdown, so they made sure not to let up the big play. pretty elementary stuff.

Ah, it's good to see that the brotherhood of Jet fandom can still stick together... on the sidewalk below a ten story building after being pushed.

Earlier this year I believed, I was confident, I had faith. I've been a fan of this team since they were called the Titans. This team made me cry before most of you were even born. The NE game tore my heart out. It was the first time in my life I ever turned a game off. That is a fact.

I've never been an SOJF before. It sucks.

Maybe if I buy a Booty Pop I'll feel better. But how about this for an idea? We kick the fucking shit out of Chicago. No last minute drives to score or stop, just kick the shit out of a good team for once.

Is this team good enough to do to the Bears what the Pats did to us? Is it? Or even a two score win? How about being able to win at least as many as we lose at home? Can we get enough pressure to make Cutler turn the ball over, something he will do with regularity if he gets pressured?

How about a fuckin defensive TD? That would be nice. Or a crucial INT caused by a QB pressure? How about making recievers who rape us going over the middle pay for it once in a while? How about not having Harris or Scott trying to cover a slot reciever over the middle 30 yards downfield when we only rush 3?

How about the offense scoring two TD's in a fuckin game?

Fuck it, I think I'll go have a snack and watch a tape of Mrs. Ryan's feet while Rex asks if he can smell them.

We are ready to take off.

Snap out of it and stop being a pussy! No good still?

Ok, lets look at this rationally. How many random distractions have the Jets had this season that would have derailed a SOJ team? I lost count somewhere around a million and one but the point is that these aren't the Jets from your youth. How many SOJ teams would have held the Steelers on that last drive, even getting away with a few penalties that could have easily been called in the process? I think that number is somewhere right around zero.

Your watching something very different than the teams that made it possible for you older guys to even coin the term SOJ and now your stupid term is dead. Embrace it and love it.

I'm a Big Fan of ThunderbirdJet and his Football Knowledge and Jet's fan perspective on things over the years from here and from other boards.....

I'm also a Green Bleeding, Mostly leaning DARK SIDER back from the days.... I'm as Joe Beningo as they come....

BUT COME ON...... No the 2010 Jets are not world beaters.. We both know their issues and what they need on both sides of the ball and that rex needs to go to school on a few sideline issues...

But, in today's NFL you take it 1 week at a time and where we are right now, IMO, is Pretty much what I could have hoped for in a season. TEN and Four and everything in front of us....

And Good for Rex, his wife and their Feet...... I'm actually a little jealous cuz as good as I may or may not have it at home I'm pretty much betting that Rex is at least a foot ahead of me.... Good for him, he's not sending texts of his ####, he's not stealing wives... HE IS LOVING LIFE EVERY DAY AND EVERY WHICH WAY....

Like one post said - THE WORLD NEEDS MORE OF REX RYAN!!!!!!!!!

To sum this up another way - IN ALL MY YEARS AS A JETS FAN, THIS IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

Now lets have a Goddam Snack, lick some F'n Feet and enjoy the rest of this season!!!!!
