The BIGGEST mistake by the refs in general on Sunday was letting Colemans grab go. He clearly pulled the guys jersey from behind. We have zero business complaining about the refs or the fact that some people wrote stories about it. It was on most of the hilite shows too. So? It was an obvious non call that would have dramatically altered the game. It happens all the time. Luckily, it was our turn to get a break like that. But youre gonna be pissed because people are talking about it?? Come on
I motion we just take the same approach Alabama and New England fans take to controversy: Whatever it takes to win. The free first down didn't help Pittsburgh any, but the Lowery PI sure as shit helped us. We got the W, on to the next week.
The question on the last play of the game was the ball catchable in bounds if it was then yes it should have been called but if not then nope should not have been called
The deep pass to Sanders where Lowery held him back was easily catcheable. The last play of the game where Sanders got raped by your defender and couldn't get free should have been called too. Yet some of you are still bitching about the "phantom first down" which still would have been 2nd and 1. Glad to see some of the Jets fans on here realizing you guys probably got the better end of the draw in these penalties.
It was Lowery................. The refs let holding go all game long or both teams. It is a non issue.
anyone know what the flag on brad smiths run back was for? i know it got picked up but no explanation. sorry if already answered
Im not going to deny the PI but on the Steelers first 94 yard drive. The first run that went for around 13 yards? their was a huge block in the back that wouldve pushed them back to the 2 yard line. It didn't get called. Im done with this game though, im moving on.
funny how nobody has mentioned that this phantom first down is the only reason they jets broke their streak of not giving up a 100-yard runner since ryan became coach. technically mendenhall only got 99. i know it doesnt really matter and its a bit stupid, but it still is a bit annoying...
despite the terrible job by the referees, you have to give credit to the classiness of the Steelers and their organization for admitting it.
Also if i recall we had a sack during that series...i was sitting on my couch trying to figure out why they were getting an extra down. Funny you read comments on ESPN and people say oh this is a headline-- what about the non pass interference call. Well missed calls happen both ways in every game...but to give a team an extra yard and move the chains should not happen. Especially after there was some confusion...that is why a ref should be in the booth and be able to buzz down for shit like that. Teams should not have to challenge official blunders like that. Bang bang plays are one thing but this was just a run in open field with one tackler.
