Isn't it amazing how the O looked so much better when the Ol was protecting, they were creating some holes, the RBs ran well, the QB was accurate and making good decisions and the WRs caught the ball?

Schotty certainly showed some creativity yesterday that had been sorely lacking. That direct snap play to Greene picked up a critical 3rd down and obviously the naked bootleg that Sanchez scored on totally fooled the Steelers.

The bigger concern yesterday was the Defensive playcalling and all the 3rd and longs the Jets gave up.

Overall, I thought Special Teams saved the day. The KO return for TD, numerous clutch punts from Weatheford and 2 FG's from Folk on a horrible playing surface.

Brad Smith and the Wildcat- you can bet the house on the fact that 99 times out of 100 he's going to run straight ahead, even if the box is stacked with every player from the team...

Throw the fucking ball...Was that last TD pass he threw not pretty enough for you, Shitforbrainsenheimmer?

    No.

The O looked better because we did a shitload of things we don't generally do.

We hadn't been trying to run outside much, and we threw a bunch of short/quick passes yesterday, something we almost never do.

    We rolled Sanchez out more....

Sanchez completed 65% did he magically get more accurate, or did we just call better pass plays?

The Schotty haters hate even after a win.

    At least they are consistent.

I think it was both. Clearly the play calling was much better yesterday, but when the receivers actually catch the ball and the QB is protected things tend to look better.

It seemed like Schotty was really in tune and focused yesterday. Maybe the fans need to taunt him after every game?

Rewatching the game now. 3:17 left in the second, knocking on the door.

WR screen to Holmes,OUTSIDE THE F*NG NUMBERS.

    1 yard gain.

    Folk converts for 3.

They threw that F*ng play, at least 3 times. 2 yards, 1 yard, 1 yard.

    Hellooooo...McFly....?

Am I wrong in thinking this offense could average 25-30 points a game if Schotty was hit by a bus?

forgive me for wanting our offense to click on all cylinders.......my bad.

I really don't like the guy, but I'll give credit when it's due. YESTERDAY he called a good game. The plays fit the tempo/flow of the game. I liked the power formations and play action from them.

Aside from losing the play I just posted above, I sincerely hope he's F*ng learning, and that this was not an aberration.

And can we PLEASE stop trying to pass to two WR's with Hartsock,Richardson and a RB on the field.

That's a good point, a lot of the issues we do have on offense I think all stems from poor blocking.

Passes need to be rushed so the receivers aren't ready/expecting the ball quite yet, bad throws because of the pass rush and like you said 0 holes to run through.

I was hoping the oline would rally around each other due to the loss of Woody. I also liked seeing Mark talk the guys up when needed. Pittsburgh is close to the top in the league and we only allowed 1 sack.

Much better compared to last weeks 6.

I would say a combo of the two but b/c other plays are called did that mean mark had ro make bad decisions or bad throws? did that mean the receivers had to drop a ton of passes? So you think the reason the receivers didn't drop passes yesterday was b/c of the playcalling?

    No. You're correct.

In fact isn't odd we actually looked OK when dickweasel started doing some of the things that we've been outright begging for since week 1?

At the end of the day he's still married to things that just suck.

    1. Thinking most pass plays need more than 4 seconds to develop.

    2. Trying to go down the field with Hartsock,Richardson and a RB on the field
(Why not just line up 7 on 11?)

    3. That Schitty WR Screen attempt.

At the end of the day, we beat Pitt in Pitt while playing against the Steelers and The Zebras.

But we should be a better offense with this much talent.

    Partly.

We ran a bevy of 2 and 3 second passes.

Keller for 4 over the middle.

Holmes for 6 in the flat

    And so on.

The only really hard catch was the one by Edwards down the sideline in the first half.

(And to be fair...3 completions were on that f*ng WR screen that netted 4 or 5 total yards.)

    However...

Let's look at the situational play calling prior to halftime.

    Two time outs.

    Ball on the 37.

    1st play.

Short pass 5 yards over the middle great...complete in 4 seconds.

    NO TIMEOUT CALLED.

Next snap occurs at 10 seconds left.

2nd and 5 play short pass to LT over the middle. 6 yard gain, 1st down at the 49 . LT down with 5 secs on the clock.

Time out, 3 seconds left. (Now you're taking one into the locker room..fcol)

    Last play, throw ball away.

    Simply Inept.

I'm going at Schotty because he is being praised for his mediocrity, 7 points again and Junc has the offense playing well, this is what the offense has been doing all year!

BS is going to end up exactly where I predicted his offense would end up, 16-20th, this has been his MO for his whole time here.

And to say the Pats had a let down, if scoring the usual 31 points is a let down I don't want the Jets to face them when they have it all together.

We have one, his name is BC, give him the chance to develop MS, the kid will flourish with him.
