http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2010/12/dwight_lowery_will_finally_rec.html About damn time. Looking forward to this more than anything tomorrow.
Hasn't he spent scattered time at safety all season? Now he's starting because we're down our #1 & #2 guys.
Minimal I believe. The guys got 10 fricken tackles on the season, thats about half of Ihedgibo and that includes his time @ corner. Now at least hell get a chance to actually prove himself.
The last sentence says a lot. Its easier to master one position than it is 3, especially in this defense where the secondary relies on concepts rather than linear assignments. I'd like to see him in the position that he feels most comfortable in and plays with the most confidence.
We will see. Hopefully he becomes some breakout phenom but I'm not holding my breath. I am more worried about pool than lowery though.
I mean really, he didn't do anything ("Lowery Did it At Last"), two guys in front of him got injured. Hopefully he does well.
As I've said a few times. If he comes out and ends up being a solid safety, it'll be huge for the franchise. It would fill a great big hole.
He was a ballhawk in college and I expect the same from him here. I think this should have been considered a long while ago, but the coaching staff I would presume knows better than I do.
Thank god... always said I think he could be a really solid FS if given the opportunity... hope he picks a pass vs the Steelers to show the CS that's where his future lies.
I think the question is whether they were playing him in those spots because he was more versatile than the other guys or was he there because of a lack of ability to play one position proficiently. I guess we might get that answer on Sunday.
Its about time. Lowery has a nack for finding the ball and if he gets consistent time at safeties I expect some interceptions. Hes also played corner so we know he can cover better the Smith and Pool.
It's about time they let Lowery eat a goddamn snack. A few of us that watched him throughout college knew he was destined to be a safety a few years back. This is long overdue...
as far as it being difficult to master 3 things, isn't that was they said about brad smith 2 years ago when they settled him down at WR? and now brad's back to doing 3 things. go figure.
Can I make a prediction? No? Oh well, I think the kid is going to step up and prove the doubters wrong.
