I didn't see this posted anywhere else. I don't know WTF Shannahan is doing over there. McNabb just got a monster contract extension and now they're starting Rex Grossman?

ESPN writers are listening, and they'll oblige.

    Looks like Mcnabb is done.

    As per rotoworld.

    http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=195453&id=704

Coach Mike Shanahan revealed Friday that he has informed Donovan McNabb that there is "no guarantee" McNabb will be a Redskin in 2011.

"It's obvious that Donovan McNabb will not be in Washington beyond this season," confirms ESPN's Adam Schefter. "The Washington Redskins' marriage with Donovan McNabb is over. It's over." Shanahan says he'll be "honest" with McNabb, which indicates that the Skins won't hold the 34-year-old quarterback hostage all offseason. Look for McNabb's $10 million option bonus to be declined before late February. He'll become a free agent.

Donovan is probably a better QB than Mark right now. But he's not nearly better enough to think about bringing him in as the starter.

It honestly is not that bad of a decision by the Redskins, if they truly have decided to move on from McNabb, which they have. Now they have 3 games to see if Grossman is worth keeping around as a back-up or potential starter for next year. Obviously he is not, he is a joke. Just like the franchise. But if you have decided to move on, and are out of the playoffs race, might as well check out the rest of your roster.

If they weren't sold on Mcnabb the why did they jump the gun and offer him a contract so early is my question

To me they look really stupid for this whole thing

As much as I hate Haynesworth for being a crybaby, that whole thing falls on Shanahan too. If a guy is a malcontent, dump him when it is beneficial to the team. You aren't helping anybody by taking a moral stand

He hated him the same before the trade deadline. Now they have to cut him or trade him for a really low draft pick because it's not a workable situation.

Yeah, McNabb should just leave town now. 3rd String? Ultimate slap in the face.

That contract means nothing if he's released by a certain date.

Maybe even the Dolphins, Henne in his 3rd year is not working out.

At least to give him some competition.
