Watching this 49ers/Chargers game and this defensive lineman, Anthony Garay, of the Chargers comes through and bodyslams Alex Smith. As the announcers are discussing what a find this guy has been for the Chargers, they also mention he was on the Jets practice squad last year. Beautiful.

He's got 4 sacks on the year, same as Taylor and Ellis (4.5). And a bunch of tackles. He's young and strong. Seems like we could've used him.
He's not really young. He was drafted by the Browns in 2003. It just took him a good while to make something of his career. He has played very well this season. A local product from Rahway, Garay was taken off the Jets practice squad by the Chargers on 12/9/09.
