    Actually, negative.

Schottenheimer's offense is predicated by the fact that Schottenheimer pretty much forces the offense into his mold rather than putting his guys in a position to succeed, making necessary adjustments. Chad Pennington never had a strong arm. Maybe slightly above average before the shoulder injury, but not after. So what does Schotty dial up? Cotchery 7 yard out pattern or Coles 4 yard inside dig (and I didn't say slant, remember). Out patterns usually were picked off for 6, and the inside dig resulted in Coles getting destroyed in the middle. Only a mad man can do this to his QB (and in case of Coles, his WR) Ok?

That would be "nodding off". Nodding is the act of shaking your head up and down, like you agree with something.

But yes, watching the Jets more and more makes me think I do need help.

Another problem is that he's running Tomlinson into the ground. Tomlinson has 244 touches with 3 games to go so he could have 300; that's a lot for an older back and I'm not seeing the same burst I saw early in the season. Greene and maybe McKnight should be getting about 5 more touches a game and Tomlinson 5 fewer.

Yeah that's what the Jets are doing too.

Obviously not making a change now.

This thread should be renamed to "please continue with the completely justified and well thought out Schottenheimer bashing!"

People seem to forget this thread was made in September when the bashing after the Ravens game was pretty over reactionary. I don't think anyone is attempting to defend the last few weeks of play by the offense. It is indefensible. If you go back there was a time when the offense was playing pretty well and he was still getting bashed for some random 3rd down call in the middle of the 3rd quarter of a Jets win. Back then I would say much of it was unwarranted but right now it's pretty justified.

    lol.

Depends on what happens from hear on out. If the offense plays like this the rest of the year i'll sign whatever petition you want. If they go back to looking like a professional offense the debate can continue.

The calls weren't terrible in November either, even with the team having to come back in the final minute of the game.

But now its about having a team prepared, their mentality, the offensive philosophy and the fact that the atrocious execution does indeed fall on the coaches. And not just schotty. Every offensive coach is at fault for 11 starters, most of which are the top players in the game shitting the bed and not scoring at least one TD in these losses. 4 games with no TDs, 3 of which at home and with extra time is unforgiving and grounds for justifiably firing an OC.

I want to see a Rex appointed guy in here running the right offense.

I'm just adding on I'm not arguing

Schotty - "Ok, let's run a quick slant!!!"

    Sanchez - "It's Thursday coach."

Even if you were arguing I would agree with this.

Nobody can be excused for not scoring a touchdown for 8 quarters. Every coach and player involved with the offense takes the blame for that. The OC takes the most blame because he runs the show and Sanchez is off the hook a bit because he is still young and can't be held as accountable as other QB's. The bashing going on now is much different than the bashing from September and October because the offense actually sucks right now.

I'm still in complete shock its gotten to this point.

Its detrimental to Sanchez and I don't want to look back at his career and point at this time in his career where it all went to hell and Schotty's to blame.

Just get back to the fundamentals of football.

There is one thing that makes me think they'll beat the Steelers. They are undefeated when they do score a TD.

One TD against the Steelers, and I know the Jets will pull out a win
