I'm not convinced the guy tripped the Dolphins player (Suspended W/O Pay For Season)

I still think he should have been fired honestly, but I am an asshole.

yessh. Kinda harsh to think he's losing 25k.

Could have made an argument for firing him though, so all things considered it's not too bad.....bet his wife is pissed...

If they didn't think highly of him they would have fired him. Clearly the organization has a decent amount of respect for him.

Yeah, but Christmas still won't suck too much on $175K.

I'm not really feeling bothered about the whole thing either way, frankly. I'm far more concerned about the offence sorting their fucking heads out by Sunday than what happens to some nondescript coach and his stupidly but frankly irrelevant behaviour.

Maybe we'll get our wish of Schotty getting fired?

    Schotty's name is conspicuously absent.

Well, he's not going to mention the names of all the coaches and coordinators, just ruling out the obvious.

I doubt Schotty was involved but something is going on if the presser was rescheduled. Maybe it's as simple as getting the right things to say from the PR people.

Alosi will be fired now. This means Alosi did not tell them that he instructed players to stand there, so he lied to them and they will now fire him.
Sounds to me like he will take the fall despite the obvious question as to how the strength coach did this without approval or knowledge of his superiors

like i get the outrage over alosi.... i don't get the outrage over the wall.
can someone tell me how getting people to form a barrier with the intention of impeding a player (who is already out of bounds) is wrong? am i missing something, or am i just being stupid here?

I hope it never comes out that Westoff is the one telling them to do this. I have a time tough believing that anything happens on special teams plays without his knowledge.

Why aren't people allowed to stand next to each other on the sidelines in the coaches box?

This dude is not on the playing field and he's running up your sidelines. Is there some reason why he is allowed to do that but the opposing team is not allowed to stand on their own sidelines?

It's not illegal but it's not something was discussed. You could line up every player as a wall on punt returns if you want. Hitting the guy with your knee on purpose is clearly frowned upon.

The fact that the intent is there is concerning. Alosi planned those guys to be there when the Dolphins ran that punt.

Why do this? The way Alosi did it was so cheap and obvious. Did he really think he looked that slick and get away with it?! Did he tell the players standing next to him to try that? You have to wonder.

If he wanted it to look like an "accident" he could've went over there and helped Nolan up and so on and so forth and maybe actually express some emotions of "oops!" instead of nothing
