Smith has thrown once out of the Wildcat and guess what it was? A 7 yard pass to Keller for a Touchdown, doesn't this tell them something? and take Sanchez out of the play (he lines up as a receiver) and put in Cotchery.... so he has more options.

    Agree.

This is why I say that good /design makes execution easier.

It's much easier to throw to wide open wr.

It's much easier to block 1 than 2 or 3.

You cannot look at execution in a vacuum.

Craziest stat of #Jets loss? They called 20 pass plays on 21 3rd downs. Only 1 designed 3rd-down run all gm http://nydn.us/eRNW1K #nfl #nyj"

    SCHOTTY IS A RETARD!!!

Run on every first down pass on every 3rd (in the rain/wind)

This stat set me off again, now i want to steal his shake weights so he'll concentrate on the gameplan.

I hated the runs on 1st down all game but we couldn't run on 1st or 2nd down but you'd trust to be able to move the ball on 3rd down? and what were the distances on those 3rd downs? he makes it seem like they were all 3rd and 1 but we know that is not the case. 3rd and 2 is a passing down in most instances.

The average 3rd down distance was 9.2 yards but that is a direct result of the horrible first down play-calling.

It seemed like Groundhogs Day, same thing over and over and over and over. see

Let's look at our 3rd downs:

    3rd and 18
    3rd and 8
    3rd and 13
    3rd and 7
    3rd and 13
    3rd and 4
    3rd and 10
    3rd and 12
    3rd and 3
    3rd and 15
    3rd and 10
    3rd and 4
    3rd and 7
    3rd and 5
    3rd and 1(we ran)
    3rd and 13
    3rd and 8
    3rd and 10

I'm w/ you on 1st down, we should be using a ton more play action on 1st down setting up 2nd and 5/4/3 but i cannot complain about throwing so much on 3rd down when we were always in passing situations.

I think the point hes trying to make is to mix it up. If we are running on almost all our first downs and throwing on virtually all 3rd downs you would think the defense would be able to pick up on that....

You should listen to the ESPN-NewYork PodCast of Michael Kay's interview with Rex. If there were ever any question about Rex's support for Schotty, he tried real hard to end all doubt. Almost like he was going out of his way to compliment the guy. Maddening.

If Rex insists on going down with the schotty ship, it's his funeral. so be it.

    They deserve it.

Baltimore, and Pittsburgh play like they're pissed off.

Our D is talented, but does not play mean.

Wtf does that even mean??? We're the 3rd ranked defense in the NFL and aside from the NE game has been damn consistent and is the heart and soul of this team.

They also just played their best game of the season last week while the offense had one of its worst but yet stick up for the O guys and put down the D guys because they aren't "mean". :rofl2:

This is where you still have me all wrong. Lining up in the shotgun on that play pissed me off to no end. There is a reason I said I didn't want to defend anything. I hated the formation and the playcall. If you notice I don't disagree with everyone who thinks he is awful because they stick to criticizing stuff that is worth criticizing. I just see you posting about specific plays as if they ran some awful play that had never been run in the history of the NFL. The situation didn't call for that play to be called but after that the design of the play wasn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be.

How many play-actions did the Jets run last game, especially on 1st down? Maybe 1? I kept waiting for them to unleash some of those after getting the Fins D to really inch up to the line more and more with every first down run.. but alas, it never happened. Should have known better.

I was beginning to think that the Play Action pass was outlawed by the NFL.
