...including playoffs, and as Brett Favre once said, why wouldn't you include them?

I did a little research, leaving out the guys who never even got to 20 wins, here is when each coach with 20+ wins in Jet history got to win #20:

    Weeb Ewbank.................4th season, Game 10
    Walt Michaels..................4th season, Game 6
    Joe Walton......................3rd season, Game 8
    Bruce Coslet....................4th season, Game 3
    Bill Parcells......................2nd season, Game 15
Herm Edwards................2nd season, Game 17 (playoff game)
    Eric Mangini.....................3rd season, Game 9
    Rex Ryan.........................2nd season, Game 11

A couple things to factor in, the schedule went from 14 to 16 games in Walt Michaels' second year, and of course Michaels, Coslet, Parcells and Mangini took over much worse teams than Walton, Edwards and Ryan so there's a bit of handicapping to do, I guess.

Just a little historical perspective in between the sky falling and the mass house cleaning.

If you win 20 games, then lose your team, it does not really matter. If he can rally the troops, which I hope he can, everything will be fine. If the team spirals out of control, it could get ugly.

I was talking to my father this morning, and made that very point.

It shows how far we've come, that in a two year span, 20+ wins, an AFCCG, and a second playoff appearance are not enough.

    Onward and Upward.

When you start 9-2, 9-7 or 10-6 isn't good. If we started 4-6 and ended 10-6 then that is good especially when he keeps telling us how good his team is. Your team ahs to back you up if you are going to talk like that. We all love Rex and I'm confident he'll turn this around at some point but right now there are valid reasons why we are not feeling good about this team and this coach.

Yeah, going from 9-2 to 9-7 would be firing worthy to many. After the last 2 games, then losing the next 3, I would call it losing your team. If he fixes things, like I wrote, everything will be fine. I think he will.

Actually far more impressive would have been his 9-7 regular season record last year + 3 POs wins & then a VLT. Stats like you posted mean nothing IMHO since he did not win the VLT last year which makes us LOSERs just like all the years we have been since 01/13/69. World championships are the ONLY thing that matters. All else is just ho hum BS. JMHO :jets:

Thanks, champ. Just curious, do you copy and paste that or do you type it out fresh each time?

Ah I type it each & every time since these type silly mind numbing stats leave me totally colder then a snowball in hell since IMHO it means totally zero. I am sure if you could ask RR what it means to him he to would say it means nothing since I DID NOT win the VLT :jets:

He will not be fired. That would be a grave mistake IMO and the fan base would be seriously pissed.

I was upset when I saw this. You let us click over 15,000 days on February 6, 2010 without any mention of the important day.

We all know the final goal is winning the Super Bowl, but wins are hardly "mind numbing stats". Wins are how you get to the Super Bowl, cart before the horse, champ. Rex has had one shot at it and came pretty close with a rookie QB, let's see what happens.

Well you know math is a exact science so that # is what it is until the NYJs become one of the trams again eliminated from the VLT tourney :jets:

Yep lets await the final decision on this year. Last year is done & gone so it means zippo now right? Again, I am sure if you can ask RR what it means to be the fastest NYJ HC to 20 wins he would probably say thats nice but I have not yet succeeded in getting this franchise a VLT yet which is all that matters :jets:
