We need to chill about Sanchez

My bad thread title should say "we NEED to chill about sanchez" Yes he in a 3 game slump but we have to remember this is only his 2nd year in NFL. Hell Payton Manning threw 11 ints in his last 3 games before week 14 and 4 of them went for td. I'm not comparing the 2 just showing u even the great ones have bad streaks.

    hahaha

seriously though it is his 2nd year, and he needs to get back to what makes him successful.

Extend the play with your feet, don't turn the ball over, keep it simple. Get back to the fundamentals. Let's cut the 3rd and short shotgun out too. I'm tired of seeing that.

But the OL has not looked stellar in the past 2 games, run and pass blocking. They need to get back to basics too.

does a veteran like brunell come in and give us one good drive to win this last game---- i am sick of hearing that he gives us the best chance---i remember when doug williams sparked a redskins team and took them to the super bowl

sanchez has suprised me this whole and and the end of last year --- but he fricken scares me when he gets into these crazy slumps---he has all the skills but looking at him these last 2 games-- it seems like the cold weather gets to him --- he starts strong but when it gets cold he has these problems---

    wrong again.

Its cold in January. He played his best football in a frigid meadowlands and in Cincy last year.

Crazy slumps are a part of being a 2nd year QB. He's not in his 8th year. Can we remember that for 10 seconds?

Lately with Sanchez, it's ball security. Some of the reads have been terrible. Some of the throws have been worse. His decision to hold the ball like a loaf of bread pisses me off weekly.

It almost as if he is under pressure to HAVE to make a play. Dude, if it's not there, get rid of the ball and live for another play.

Now I'm not naive enough to believe it's all on the young QB now. The line could help out by springing the running game and the coordinator could implement some shorter passing to help the kid get in a rhythm early in the game.

    Doug Williams was 32.

Know your history and stop posting dumb bullshit.

He's gone back to that one handed shit that got him in trouble last year. He's got to get back to basics.

He's pressing to be the hero, and that's what gets him in trouble. That's what makes his footwork suck. That's why the throws are off. Its on him and the coaches to be mentally disciplined in this tough stretch. If they can do that, they'll be fine and they'll score points again.

They gotta redo last December again. Make it simple, make sure his confidence is back to where it should be. Too much on his plate will make him want to be the hero, and that's how multiple interceptions are thrown.

And his last meaningful pass was 3 seasons ago.

Yes, he's going to light it up for a whole half.

Sanchez's late game heroics go out the window due to a couple of bad games.

Let's stop thinking emotionally here, and get back to logic.

vinny came off the couch and got us a win --- anything can happen---brunell has been around this game for awhile...he could last a half and maybe see something sanchez isnt seeing.... this team has plenty of weapons .... it wouldn't take much for an average qb to put points on the board---- even brunell

rex is just scared to pull him and break his confidence---the dolphins would not be game planning for brunell so i beleive that would favor us with brunell's knowledge

the cold has nothing to do with sanchez not playing well.

it's the god damn wind and rain. more so the wind because he's been ok in just rainy situations (i.e. pretty good in the minnesota game)

the wind absolutely throws off his accuracy and he doesn't know how to adjust. there's no 25-30 mph gusts of wind in southern california

that's also on schotty though to account for that when calling plays.

the type of routes and throws you can make when the winds are bad.

this team needs to practice in a fuckin wind tunnel sometimes

wow. Vinny didn't do anything in that game. The defense did and Curtis Martin did.

Sanchez is always the better option over Brunell. You continue to ignore the 4th quarter heroics Sanchez has displayed as if it doesn't count.

Stop thinking the answer lies in a 41 year old QB who's clearly done.

Sanchez's footwork was shit on half those throws. That deep ball to Braylon was bad.

Schotty needs to get the philosophy of who this team is back on track. He's such a pain in the ass with what he wants to do against what should be done.

That is what Ryan was talking about. Prior to the last 2 games, Sanchez looked great avoiding the rush and making plays, so much so, he's lost some of his fundamental mechanics. When that running around stopped working for him, it was like he went back to square one.

It's a lot to put on a 2nd year QB, but this offense rides on his shoulders. I also agree that the O line is not playing well. Mangold has that bad shoulder and it's showing in his play. Now Woody is gone. I'm not optomistic.

I can't believe the coaching staff is so down on Clemens. I know he has shown very little throughout his career but I thought he outplayed Brunell in preseason for what it's worth....and he's about 20 years younger!

Not saying he's the long-term answer but I wouldn't mind seeing him in relief.
