It seems like that has come back to haunt us. I know that both were easily replaced, but I remember so many players were upset that we got rid of them; especially TJ. I wonder if the lack of identity in our running game seems to have some connection with this. EDIT: What about in terms of leadership? Did we perhaps get rid of two of our biggest leaders on O?
oh my god. i need to self ban myself from this place before i get stupider through osmosis or commit suicide from reading threads like this
Maybe initially before even the preseason started, but I believe it's been a non-issue all season long.
No, Its not chemistry of the team that is preventing us from being elite its the play calling on offense and the lack of discipline.
Go to hell. This was legitimate concern coming into the season. Its documented players were upset about this. Guys rallied around those players, its not like I'm pulling this information out of my ass.
But it's Week 14 and we are 9-4. If we were 4-9 I can maybe seeing this as an issue, but I think it's pretty clear that it's not.
Chemistry makes so-so talent play better as a unit. I don't think it works conversely. That is to say, I don't think weak chemistry makes good talent play poorly as a unit. I suppose I could be wrong, though. Also, if Hard Knocks taught us anything at all, it's that these teammates seem to get along well as a group.
We got LT and from the sound of it, LT has much more leadership than TJ. As for Faneca, Im sure Slauson has given up less sacks than Faneca. It only takes one hit to derail your season. So no, the chemistry has been there all season long. Woody's injury has caused some issues, but thats irrelevant.
Team leadership seemed fine when we were 9-2, no? All the leadership won't make Sanchez a consistently accurate thrower, give our receivers more reliable hands and help Schotty develop more cohesive gameplans
if it was an issue, we wouldn't have been 9-2 and 5-1. and our offensive line and running game was dominant for the first 5 games of the year pretty much. it doesn't all of a sudden become a problem at the end of season. players don't go "oh man, i really miss t jones and faneca. fuck this place" in week 12 or 13
facepalm.. I would think teams with poor leadership and chemistry wouldn't have the wherewithal to pull those games "we should have lost" out of the fire but what do I know?
Faneca was getting Sanchez killed as much as Hunter. And Thomas Jones was upgraded into an option back in LT. LT might be slowing down but this is when Greene came on last year too. It's 2 weeks late but they should start the fresher legs and bring LT in for 3rd/situational downs only from here out.
I look at this existentially - if we could have been 4-9, then we would be 4-9. In the words of that fat fuck Bill Parcells, you are what your record says you are.
The injuries to Leonard and Woody plus Rex's postgame nonsense of blaming the defense yesterday did more to derail team chemistry than losing Jones and Faneca.
