Sometime in the last few weeks. It failed miserably.

might be true, but it is debatable, in my eyes, when your offense is as predictable as the Jets are, you put the O line at an immediate disadvantage..granted they could be doing a better job though.

Who said the players don't deserve blame??? Everybody connected with that abysmal offense deserves blame - at the top of the list is the genius who is supposedly in charge of the offense - Schotty. I was responding to some of the Schotty ballwashers who have pathetically resorted to blaming the players and everybody else that they can find when the truth is that the offense has pretty much sucked all season under Schotty and has definately not improved and is in fact getting worse as the season progresses under Schotty's brilliant leadership.

    Not really.

Go back...after the heat of the moment and watch what they are being asked to do...

    It's mind boggling.

And as far as atrocious play design.....

1st possession. 3rd and 3. We go four wideout/1 back (LT). shotgun and you think...Hey Schotty gets it.

The WR's are close in, in a 2 by 2 stack on either side of the line.

    after the snap ?

He has Sanchez take a fucking 3 step drop, and NO ONE is coming across the middle of the field.

The target? JCO on a yard out route that almost goes for a pick 6....

Why? Because the route took 4 seconds to develop... (I'm watching the clock count off right now.)

and there is no fucking clear out.

Fair enough. I agree with that entirely but there were a couple play calls that should have worked out to big gains that would have changed the entire complexion of the game. At the same time, the Dolphins should have had at least 2 more picks all things considered so it balances out.

Schotty was a joke yesterday as was the entire offense.

One thing I would try to work in more are more runs to the perimeter. We've had 2 end arounds this season go for huge gains, I'm not saying run 5 end arounds a game but some more pitches and stretch plays instead of running it up the gut which is clearly not a strength of this offensive line this year. I think working in McKnight would help here because of our 3 RBs he's probably the fastest.

I thought you said we never run 3 step drops or out patterns?

I promise you, the problem with the Jets' offense is not the lack of flea-flickers...

This is also part of the Sports Illustrated curse. They just ran an article on the Jets OL and how amazing it is. Ever since that issue they have performed horribly. Don't get me wrong, Schotty still sucks too.

I think he means a "3-step drop" pattern that takes the typical "3-step drop" amount of time to execute.

Schotty HATES using the edges and off tackle for runs. He just doesn't believe in it. Up the middle is where it's at, apparently. I think teams have figured out that our counter running plays don't work if they can penetrate the LOS early on in the play.

I agree Ace. My problem is that I see this offense as being loaded w/talent and it has failed to be productive. Maybe all the players suck - but I tend to think its more about the coordinator. I agree with you that something different has to be done and that there were a few plays that could have been big gains. But the basic fact is the offense has sucked badly for 8 quarters in a row and its not the first time we have seem them play this way. I would like to see a new OC in place.

Cavanaugh should have been gone a long time ago.

I know it's just a snapshot, but him and Schotty trying to swagger into Mark, because ...doggone it, He's a starting NFL quarterback was ridiculous.

Put him at 60% Comp. and a 90+ Rating and he'll walk like his balls bounce off the ground.

We never run Slants. Inside. (Or out...If Cotchery had run a slant toward the stick the CB would not have gotten underneath for the almost pick6)

    Outs..It's where he lives.

And a 3 step drop OUT OF THE SHOTGUN....is a 7 step drop.

I know you're just f*ng with me, but a 4 second pattern on a 4 yard pass play isn't even serious enough to be pathetic.

    +1^

I have to agree. And if we suck so much that the only thing we can do is load up the OL w/6 Men and play power smashmouth football - then thats we have to do.

    Negative.

Sanchez loves throwing into the middle.

    End result is,

    1. 3 yard gain when you need 8
    2. Batted down at the line
    3. Interception
