Rex better not turn the defense against him.

Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis couldn't believe his ears after the game.

Granted, the Jets lost to the Dolphins 10-6 and all losses are team losses, blah, blah, blah. But the Jets' defense held the Dolphins to 131 yards of total offense, a total of six first downs (one in the second half) and just five completions. The defense produced five sacks and three fumble recoveries.

    But . . .

"According to Rex we played [bleepy]," Ellis told The Post of Rex Ryan's words to the defense after the game. "He said we weren't good enough. I guess we needed a shutout. I guess that's what he was talking about."

The criticism did not sit well with the defensive players, likely explaining why most of them bolted from the locker room before reporters were allowed in. Linebacker Bart Scott, the so-called leader of the group, had someone bring him his clothes from his locker.

"It's frustrating to hear that because we played a solid game," Ellis said. "I guess he just expects so much out of the defense that there should have been zero points on the board, not 10."

Ryan's problems did not end when the clock ran out.

Just heard this on WFAN. The defense played lights out yesterday, and both scores miami put up were off of turnovers that gave them really great field position.

The Offense was the problem today. Sometimes I wonder if Rex can only relate to the defense. He needs to work more with the offense, if he can.

    Concerning.

Will have to see how Rex handles the situation moving forward.

Is Rex serious???? The O gets another pass and the D gets shit on?

The D probably played its best game as a unit this year and possibly its best under the Rex era and he puts down the D as not good enough?

-2 yards in the 4th isn't good enough? If I was the D I'd be furious.

If we lose the heart and soul of this team, Rex won't be the 10+ year coach I want him to be.

The wheels are really falling off now.. what a disaster.

Although, I do like the part at the end of the article where fans chanted "Shotty must go" during the post game press conference.

    This.

Rex is in the wrong here for attacking the defense for their play.

    Just post-game anger.

Nothing to be alarmed at, I'm sure they made up already. It is Rex Ryan's birthday today.

The offense gave him a steaming pile of shit for his birthday, I hope his wife gave him something nice.

How is the frustration not aimed at the Offensive side of the ball though?? How does the O keep getting passes and Rex never really attacks them?
