What you marked is what he is right now. A starter, but inconsistent. This is his third season starting after completing High School. I'm pretty sure he has a thing or two still to learn.

Depends on how he develops the next 3 years.

If Schotty stays for him, Nacho will be a career backup, if he can be that good.

Phil Simms sucked for forever before 1986. Give him time.

The guy needs to grow up quick...

    1) Start looking beyond your 1st WR option... you really should (and do) have options open on every play. Make quick reads and use your #2/3/4 when #1 is in quadruple coverage. Also, who didn't see the slant to Holmes coming late in the game? I literally predicted that play at the same exact time as my roommate, who is a jets fan. Probably a bad playcall to begin with, but Sanchize has got to do better than lodging the ball in the chest of Karlos Dansby.

    2) Stop making terrible, horrible, abominable decisions. When you are getting dragged down from behind, halfway to the ground: don't lob the ball downfield to a reciever who isn't there... even if you see a reciever marginally open, your pass won't be accurate enough to make it to him. Nobody is going to credit you for trying to make those plays (OK, jon gruden probably will, but...)

These are mistakes that you expect out of a rookie, but a 1st round, 2nd year player with the supporting cast he has should be at least beginning to phase them out of his play. If his name was brett favre, maybe he would have a "stellar" career ahead of him, but lets face it, sanchez is no gunslinger.........Starter although inconsistent

Matt Hasselbeck as a best-case scenario, IMO.

Sanchez sucks. He rushes his throws. He has happy feet. He has the deer in headlights look. Schottenheimer also needs to put in tape on how the Eagles do screen plays. Vick hardly ever threw screen passes with Atlanta, but with Philly they do it everytime, and they are the best at it. When Sanchez throws a screen pass, he throws it to quick. He does not allow time for the play to develop.

This is way too soon, for a second year QB he's doing alright and has shown a few multi-game flashes of brilliance

With the mindset everyone is in here I have 2 things to point out

    1) There was talk in the media of the Gaints cutting Eli months before their super bowl run, QBs take time

    2) NOT EVERYONE IS MATT RYAN, THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS

also how is there not an option between borderline HOF and average, I'm sure there are a few above average QBs who aren't borderline HOF...

    he's just gotta grow up.

it sucks we magnify everything because we're the new york jets, and the fact the rest of the team is built to win now..........but he's still a kid with not much experience starting in college or professionally. imagine if we were calling for the elite QB's heads in year 2? Look at almost all the great QB's in time during their 2nd year....shit, most of them don't even have the TD to INT ratio sanchez has this year.

we've seen him be brilliant and poised and make great throws, so it's not like he can't do it or all of a sudden sucks. he doesn't suck.

guys like tom brady and peyton manning are so good because they've seen almost every look you can throw at them so they know how to react in certain situations when they bullets are flying. i'm not comparing sanchez to them, but the fact is experience breeds confidence.

for sanchez, it's all mental. he's got to learn to bounce back from bad games and bad throws quickly. even shitty losses like these will make him grow as a player. if you can bounce back from this, you can endure a lot.

I think he's lucky to have landed on the Jets.

He'd still be on the bench or back on it on most NFL teams.

Do you guys think this thread sucks, is terrible, is awful, really bad, kind of horrible, or demonstrates great failure?
