we've not played our best football since before the bye week, then we got beat by gb, were lucky to win 3 straight against 3 horrible teams (lets be honest) and then got humliated in the biggest game of the whole year. right now I dont think this team can beat a single playoff team playing this kind of football. We have the TALENT to beat every single team in this league, but not playing like this. This week is the week to get bak on track because if not, they'll go 0 for december. talk is cheap, play the game guys
If any of us that will read this actually played for the Jets or had any type of influence on the team at all this would be a really great rallying cry. Oh and you already made this thread dude.
your right we have no problems, we'll probably walk to the super bowl....just trying to be objective and not a blind homer
If being objective is just spitting out bullshit that Mike Francessa and opposing fans say about the Jets than you have done a wonderful job of being objective.
if you wanna play blind man then go walk with the shephard but my eyes are wide fuckin open. can you honestly say you have confidence that we can beat good teams? not the lions or the browns, but a good team with and good coach and a good qb? i mean i love the jets and im hopin like hell its our yr but playing this kind of football will not get them anywhere and it starts with firing schittenheimer
saying lucky is stupid. plays you would consider "good luck" happen to good teams every week in the NFL NO might have lost to cincy if they didn't fall for the saints fake 4th down NO would have lost to dallas if roy williams would have secured the ball instead of getting it ripped out ATL would have lost to the niners if the niners CB would have took a knee instead of trying for a TD and getting stripped Pit would have lost to buffalo if steve johnson didn't drop that TD tahts 4 examples for good teams who should have lost to bad teams if it wasn't for "good luck" as you call it and i'm sure i can name more if i tried.
above statement is true, except for that 3 weeks in a row we failed to come out and play good ball against teams that we should be able to beat easily...wins and losses arent the only thing that matters to me. i wanna know how you won and how you lost. we may be able to play poorly and beat detroit, but beating detroit isnt our goal, we need to beat pittsburgh, baltimore, new england, indy
Something tells me that you were thinking this same stuff this time last year right before the Jets went to the AFCCG. I'll wait and see how the rest of the year plays out before I make some asinine statements with the ever popular(and lame) "I hope I am wrong" disclaimer. By the way, what about this thought that you had made it necessary to have it's own thread? Didn't you say all this same stuff in your Jim Mora thread?
Your post is dead on. But somehow jets fans got very cocky and arrogant, I suppose by listening to their coach. Jets fans want to act like Rexy does. Well, I personally love the jets, but find talk cheap. I would much rather see this team talk on the field, than off the field. Right now this is a talented team, playing average at best football.
last yr nothing was expected and we were playing with house money...last yr I was just happy to be there. this yr's different, we have the most talent in the league and are doing the least with it week in and week out and its getting old. any jets fan that honestly thinks we're going to the super bowl right now is lying to themselves. bellicheck has danny friggin woodhead as his RB he has brady and a bunch of scrubs and has the leagues best record.
i'm sorry that many of here dont like an honest opinion and would rather see posts that blindly support the team despite the poor play, but this is the reality of the situation RIGHT NOW. its not to say we cant get it together and start playing like were capable, but as it is right now this team is all talk plain and simple
No one is relaxing and thinking this is in the bag. What the informed posters are doing is understanding that this team has time to fix everything while staying competitive with every team they play. They've had one game all year where they shit the bed and all 3 phases didn't show up. That is not cause for ducking and covering. Its also not cause for put up or shut up. Its cause for let's get back to what made this team successful. I'm not one to spew quotes from the sports cliche book. It doesn't do anything.
I love how its one way or the other. Its either you're tough on this team right now or you're being too relaxed and confident. I don't think, I know that the Pats loss is the reason for this emotional posting and the awful threads. This and the Jim Mora bullshit are both travesties. I know the concerns with this team, I don't need a thread as a rallying cry because I'm upset with their play. I understand this team plays pretty well late in the season and they certainly play well in January under Rex and Sanchez. If they were all talk, they'd be 7-5. So let's cut the stupidity.
has anyone also realized that schittenheimer is holding us back from being a truly good football team?
Well I have to say that it's pretty impressive to get 9 wins against other professional football teams only by talking.
