Before the Miracle at Midnight, there was THIS: Skip Ahead to 4:55 for the big moment!
I remember this game, I was just 12 years old. It was the first time I went absolutely crazy because of a football game.
What a magnificent pass by O'Brien. Incredible game. Nice also to see Walton picking that nose just before the play.
Great game. My friends wanted to leave when the Jets were trailing in regulation time. I said, "No way." I drove that day, so we stayed until the end.
Bernie Parmalee scoring those 2 touchdowns November 19 2000 in miami. I remember on the 2nd touchdown he put his finger to his mouth and shushed the fans. Awesomeness.
My first Jet game in person November 21, 1981 Jets 16, Dolphins 15 Down 12-6 at half Todd hits Jerome Barkum late in the fourth quarter to win it, after that game both teams were 7-4-1 with tie being to the Phins eatlier in the year.
great game - wes fumbled a ball late in the 4th, but game back with the game tying and winning catches. My cousin marrying him is the reason I became a Jet fan...a little kid has a pro athlete in the family and you have no choice but to root that team on lol 28 years later and I blame her for all my heartache
How about this one as a moment - even though the Phins won . . . (The tackle of Nat Moore, not the Duper catch.)
WOW! You were at that game??? That is one of my all time great Jets moments. Became a life long Richard Todd fan after that game. Congrats on being there!!
This was the game that had my whole school talking. NFL in UK had taken off the previous year with half of England becoming Bears/Walter Payton/Fridge Perry fans but if you talk about a single game from that operiod then this is the one people remember. We used to get highlights of a game one week after the game was actually played so by the time this was shown, everyone knew the score but still wanted to watch it play out. Still got this game recorded on VHS somewhere. What I had completely forgotten was that we fumbled the ball on the OT kick off return!! We never should have won. LOL
Honestly never knew Harper fumbled the ball on the return. I heard the game on a pair of headphones from a co-worker when I about 15 years old working at a catering hall. Bunch of waiters jumping around like little kids.
What a game, I also saw that a week later in the UK. Its the main reason O'brien became my first favorite Jets player and why i got totally into NFL in the first place. I still wish we would roll out those Uniforms for a Throwback in one game a season, they are not totally linked with Failure. Those ones with the black trim were! but not the mid 80's ones.
"O'Brien....going for it all...to Walker....TOUCHDOWN...OHHH MY!!!" I had taped the game and I watched the end so many times it wore out the tape. One of the truly great Dick Enberg calls.
I have a soft spot for 1981 as it is the first season I can clearly remember watching. I have that game on tape. There are so many great moments in this rivalry, it may not be the most heated through the years but it's probably been the most entertaining.
