All the Jets need to do is win, as long as they win two games they are automatically in the playoffs.

With 6 losses Jacksonville would not be able to move past us for the WC due to tiebreakers

I understand that, but they'd still be playing for their division title.

This whole team from the coaches to the players got served a wake up call, lets see how they respond. A couple of wins should have us in the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row and anything can happen after that. We still have a 2nd year QB and HC so as much as I want instant success, I realize this is still a work in progress. Without a better pass rush and better play calling on offense, its gonna take some creative work by Rex & Co. this season to get by the top seeds. Right now I want to crush the Fins and make it clear Monday was a fluke. This game is now a lot more important than what it should have been.......

Yeah that would be their only way in, that division I see no WC coming out of unless some other team has a meltdown.

    1. An ass-whooping like Monday night's never digests well. But we might remember that the Pats lost to the tough-playing Browns (who we beat)... and to us, too, by the way... by an average of 17 points. The Pats and the Jets share three common opponents the rest of the way... Miami, Buffalo, & Chicago... while they play Green Bay and we play the Steelers... so KEEP HOPE ALIVE, because we just don't know! I haven't ruled out winning the division.

    2. I think the Miami game will be telling, though, relative to Leonhard being out for the rest of the campaign. Henne is no Brady, but Bess and Marshall aren't slouches. So who's going to step their game up?!

    3. Still waiting for Greene's break-out game of the season. I know it's coming.

Lets just see what happens. The Jets didnt show up Monday, but lets not forget they have 9 wins. The 2008 Cardinals allowed 56 points to the Jets, 48 the the Eagles and lost 47-7 to the Patriots. They then turned it around and went to the superbowl. If one game makes you give up on the team then I feel bad for you. It also makes it pathetic when you jump on the bandwagon after they beat miami.

Clinching a playoff seed this week would be great. To tell you the truth, if the Jets did end up with a wild card spot, going into KC or Jacksonville isnt as scary as heading into Indy or San Diego.

Lets just get a win Sunday and then see how the Jets respond against the Steelers, who they could very well play in the first or second round.

I wouldn't mind seeing Revis vs. Bowie...

Unfortunately I see JAX and SD BOTH winning this weekend, and Indy won last night, so the J-E-T-S are going to need to win at least 2 out of the next 4, preferably 3 (they should at least win their remaining divisional games)

it all starts with dragging the tuna nets this weekend

I think this scenario would've happened if not for Cassel being out now.

The Chiefs have been playing great, have a stronghold on the division, it's a shame they lost their QB in these crucial games.

I was optimistic when Titans got the ball last night with 3 minutes left and only down six. But then Jeff Wisher decides to punt on 4th & 1 and give the ball back to Peyton. Sillyness.

That was the scenario I thought could happen with Titans at home, now hoping for SD & JAX losses at home seems far-fetched.

Oakland is in a must win game, if they lose they're not mathematically out of it but they'd be done.

I think Revis probably wins vs Bowie. Unless Bowie maces Revis with hairspray or something.

But I totally get you. Revis vs Bowe would be interesting.

Could you imagine if somehow the Chiefs beat the Jets on a Thomas TD? This board would explode (shudder).

i can inmagine i sounded much like you and johnnyd in the past when herm and mangini were coaching this team and i wasn't buying into the smoke and mirrors of their coaching. took a lot of flack for it but i said what i thought. i don't have a problem with your negitive reflections of the team because i was there once (for 30 some odd years).

but now, with rex i see an attitude i've never seen with this team before. one bad game doesn't change that. i don't think anyone is more pissed or humiliated then the players and coach. i think we'll see a angry jets team come sunday and continue on that way for the rest of the season.

rex ryan is the real deal and i finally believe we've got the right guy for the job and the team will be competitive in the future. the only down fall is we have a team, coach and qb in our division that is as good as any there have been and it will take a lot to over come them. but at least now we have a fighting chance and i haven't felt that way for a long time.

i'mn sure i'm reguarded as a darksider by many and don't really care, never did. but nowadays, i think the future looks promising and we have a real top notch coach and gm to give us jets fans hope.
