On 12/3 Fanhouse reported that Michael Strahan thinks Plaxico Burress will "Come back and be a great player" and also reported that the Giants and Jets are rumored to have interest.

If the Jets have cap issues and might not be able to sign both Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards, then Plax could be a great alternative. I think he and Santonio could be a better tandem, as a matter of fact.

In all honesty, I love Plax. The Giants don't come close to the SB without him and the Giant players really stuck up for him and liked him. Some problems for sure, but I think his "bad guy" image was a little overblown. He talked back to coaches and that was a big part of what got him the bad rep. We know that won't be an issue on a Rex Ryan team..

I'm not condoning the gun thing. But I am a strong believer in second chances, especially after going through the full legal process and serving your time. He caught no breaks and was given no special treatment. More the opposite if anything...

And if the Jets signed him, in addition to having a good receiver, we could hear Francessa go ballistic for years on end. Win win!

I like this idea. I don't see any way they keep both Braylon and Holmes and still be able to sign David Harris. I think Plax would be a great alternative.

I don't get how this idiot is still in jail for shooting himself and Dante Stallworth is on the field.

Crazier things have happened? Michael Vick, in MVP talks for 2010?

WR is not a need for the 2011 Jets though.

This is why I hate some Jets fans. You guys give us such a bad name, what a horrible topic, its not the offseason. Honestly, who cares.

    Seriously? Plaxico?

LOL, and what's more, you just know the Fatinator would then take a shot at the Jets for continuing to sign players of questionable character.

Hell why stop there? Albert Haynesworth will be a salary dump for Washington once the season ends. Barring any CBA impasse, take a (risky) flyer on him for a below value draft pick, switch to a 4-3 and add a "Brady bonus"

    j/k

If it wasn't just reported I wouldn't have brought it up.

Yes, seriously. Google his name. These aren't the only two teams that might consider him. He will be out there. He will be polarizing. So what.

    This thread bothers you? Seriously?

Every single day of the year, there's a "we should sign <blank>" thread.

Not what this team needs, we have enough guys who can drop passes we need someone who can rush the QB and actaully get to him. This alone would vastly improve our secondary and make us better able to compete with the elite teams in the NFL.
