Thought this guy was supposed to break out this year ? Hes been fucking terrible. He had 3 hot weeks and has done nothing else this entire season. I understand he likes to play well in the playoffs, but how about contributing a little bit until we get there. We fucking suck in the red zone and Kellers a huge part of that. Last TD the guy had was in week 4.
i don't think it rests solely on him. shotty and mark need to take some of that blame too. you can't try and incorporate him as late in the game as we have been, and expect him to be huge.
i guess i meant its up to sanchez to deliver the ball to him too. now i'm not implying he's open on every route. but if mark only throws the ball his way 5 times a game, he's not gonna contribute all that much. edit: i could be wrong, but in the beginning of hte season he was targeted like 5 times a quarter. now its thrown his way late in the game. or.. to me anyway.
Calm down, it's up to Sanchez to target and throw to him anyway. Besides they don't throw to him in the red-zone anymore, and they did that last nigh, and got it picked because of a bad decision by Sanchez. Keller is still having a solid year for a TE(who are used as blockers for the most part on some teams).
Keller does not design the plays. Let's look at what happened last night. A guy WE CUT put up a hundred yards against us. Good coaches take good football players, and DESIGN plays for them. Did we really ever get the most out of Leon Washington ? It's clear where the problem lies.
You mean Schotty, they used to design plays and call on him to be a focal point of this offense. Since the arrival of Holmes Schotty forgot how dominant Keller is. This rests squarely on the shoulders of Schotty. I just posted this but, Keller's first 2 catches were designed plays to get him the ball. He was targeted 4 times last night, catching 3 balls. IT IS SCHOTTY!
Quite obviously, it's the execution that's where the problem lies. Schotty is not to blame. (Take that, junc)
This thread is stupid. Schotty forgot this guy, who has pretty good hands, exists. Simple. Mark too, barely looks for him. We are getting too predictable.
I love that whenever he gets a catch, the commentators always hark about how he's Sanchez's favorite target. The dude hardly gets any targets. Do these guys watch the games?
Look. This guy Schotty couldn't design plays for talented players like Keller. Is it any wonder why he couldn't make use of Danny Woodhead? Not to mention, quite a few on this board alone had seen the potential Danny had. (And Pats are taking every advantage they can out of him.)
Wow this thread is the peak of "Mount Shitthreads" for sure. Let's blame the TE when the QB can't throw him the ball with some consistency, and the OC isn't calling for a play which works in favor of the TE.
If you're going to focus on Keller, the big story is how much attention he's getting from the opposing defense still. He's getting hit off the line by the DE and then is double teamed. He's also held on almost every play. All that attention should mean opportunities for others. We have major coaching problems on O and Sanchez has poor accuracy. We're 9-3 and will be in the playoffs but we can't match up with Pittsburgh, Baltimore or NE in a game that matters at this point without improvements in those areas.
