Actually no because the Dolphins essentially played themselves out of the playoffs after losing to Cleveland. That was also part of his prediction. This isn't 1986 regardless of how much people like you are hoping it is.
Us losing to the Pats wasn't exactly a shocker, they were 3 1/2 point favorites. The way I look it at we lost by 1 point and we've lost by 42. They both mean the same exact thing at the end of the day.
I think the Miami game will set the tone for the remainder of the season. If the Jets don't come out extremely well prepared and fired up next week, things could spin out of control very quickly. Thank God Chad Henne plays QB for the Dolphins and not Tom Brady.
The facts he us so far correct that he is 1-0 in saying that they will go 0-5 to close out the season including last nites game :jets:
I disagree. The object is to win the game. The Jets were not a couple of points away from winning. They were 43 points away from winning. ESPN says the last time the Jets lost a game this badly was in 1986. Think about that - 1986. That's pretty creepy.
He predicted we would lose to the Patriots in foxboro and lose the next 4 games. A lot of people can predict we will lose in foxboro but that doesnt mean we lose to phins and bills at home and lose to steelers and bears. Its a good thing Im not a mod here or I would ban all you stupid fucks who spew nonsense after every loss.
The problem is I love the Jets! Would you prefer I lived in Fantasy land and said they were something that they are not. A top tier team?
See all I said he was right so far in his prediction that we will lose the next 5 games to close out the season. Nothing more then less. Are you saying he was incorrect so far in his prediction? :jets:
I understand what the object is, we've won 6 more then we lost and still have the 3rd bet record in the NFL. Predicting us to lose to the pats on the road isn't exactly going out on a limb. I would also disagree with your thought that it's creepy. There was a bad sequence of events that resulted in a blowout loss that certainly had things panned out different it wouldn't have been as bad. We can sit here and play what if all we want but it's one loss and we can still bounce back next week.
rich - u appear to be around my age so i am sure can appreciate the michaels - todd - walton frustrations of the 70's and 80's i am guilty as charged for "paralleling" this year with that 86 season. i remember looking at the schedule back in september, knowing full well we had a pretty good team, and saying wouldn't it be something if we had a great record going into the pats game in december. but man - getting our asses kicked on the road by the same score is something and really makes u think twice. u couldn't have scripted it any better, unfortunately. i am going to the dolphin game next week and that the 86 collapse will be in the back of some folks minds - especially if we don't come out and lay the lumber early and often on sunday. best jil
No he is not correct because making a prediction isn't predicated on what happens in the 1st part of that prediction. As a guy who bets on sports if I place a bet on the Lakers to win the NBA title and they start out 2-10 or 10-2 it doesn't make my prediction right or sort of right. My prediction is only right should they win the title or fail to win the title. There is no "right so far". And for the record if your going to give him credit for predicting the 0-5 you also need to go after him saying the Phins will make the playoffs which at 6-6 isn't very likely.
For the wild card, there are 5 teams in contention for the two spots. Baltimore Jets Indy/JAX San Diego Chargers Miami Dolphins Baltimore is a lock. They have @Hou, vs NO, @Cle and vs.Cin left We beat Miami on Sunday their season is over, especially since they still need to travel to NE. SD is dangerous. They have vs.KC, vs.SF, @Cin, @Den. They need to win out but it's doable. Idk what their tiebreaker situation is but I can't imagine it being good. Indy's game vs. Jacksonville in 2 weeks is huge. A Jacksonville victory essentially locks up the division for them and kicks Indy out of it. I think this is the year Indy misses the playoffs, too many injuries for them to overcome. And back to us, we have vs.Mia, @Pitt, @Chi, vs.Buffalo. A 2-2 split guarantees us the playoffs.
